scared to touch my gecko

I know this sounds ridiculous but I have a lined leaf-tailed gecko, uroplatus lineatus, and he is very wild. I’ve had him for almost two years and do not bother him. I’ve handled him maybe 10 times in these last 2 years and he is very much not a fan of human contact.
I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas of how to move him into a new enclosure? A friend suggested a net but I don’t want to traumatize him. I have used heavy duty gloves in the past to grab him but he’s so fragile, and I hate gripping him so hard. I can’t really let him walk on me peacefully because he will definitely jump out of my hands. Any suggestion is helpful, really don’t want him to bite me (again) or get stressed out. Thanks !!!

If the current enclosure is smaller than the new enclosure, you may be able to actually put the smaller one into the larger one temporarily.
