Julie and I are in and we would like to ship a gecko. We are interested in reptiles in general, crested, balls, leos, or anything else female and easy to take care of. This sounds like fun. We have some cool females waiting for a home.

I hate to get ahead of myself, but I told my girlfriend about this, and told her that a female bell was at the top of my list, and that if I got one, she'd get the name 'noel' in honor of this. She got all excited about it (thank god my girl loves leos!!). I'm going to get to work soon on building my recipient's shelf system, I'm going to go a bit bigger and better than what I built for myself. I'm thinking a multi-layer staggered effect, with skewed lines, and enough space to stick a few of the smaller exo-terra hides on there should they choose to add them. Think the chess type board from Star Trek, only smaller and in slate. I'm going to make it able to fit into a 10gallon, so if somebody with a small tank gets it, they're good to go, and if it's somebody with a larger tank, then it can go in a corner. I'll post pics some time in the middle of the week when it's complete.

IMO, it's a better idea to wait and see what tank size the person has/will have. You can find out through Mallorie, and that way you can make a little bigger second story for someone that may have a 20L or a huge breeder, because something made to fit a little 10gal may look funny inside of 55.

I hope I get you because I would really like to give a Isreali Dune Gecko but im not sure many people would want them. Since the only geckos i have access to/can afford are normals and maybe an albino if we get them at work since i dont breed.

Just for comparison, mine (only 1 is in the posted pic, I need to update) are both in a 50gal breeder, and they take up a good amount of space. The slate slabs are like 16x6 to start, and then if I just shorten up one of them to make a stepped second level, it would still have the same footprint but more floor space. A 10 gallon would be more or less dominated by one of these, a 40/50 breeder would end up with a nice end piece.

Here's a pic I just snapped with both of my 1 story platforms in my 50gal so you see exactly how big it'll be. I'll just add a second level to it that's shortened up about 5" or so to have a step effect. I'm thinking 1st level 4" off the ground, second an additional 3" over that. Also, I'm adding more pics of my tank into the housing section for the curious.

It's okay, sending something nice that's just gecko related is just fine. I mean, we plan to send a gecko if we can, but we don't expect a gecko in return. Anything gecko related will be an awesome secret santa present :)

Join! You don't have to send a gecko in return.

That's kinda how I felt, really greedy hoping for a bell and not sending another gecko in return, but if my breeding goes well next season, someone will get a nice little baby with lots of hets for xmas 09!
