Why does it seem that there are a plethora of female geckos compared to males? Is it because the males require a higher temp and its harder to keep temps that high?(when incubating) Or are they just not as desired when it comes to breeding them? I want a big male gecko, I don't have buku bucks to spend on it and am not picky when it comes to what it looks like. Just healthy and plump!

Also, I think it's because a LOT of people incubate to get both males and females, and in that case, nature will always produce more females then males.

i have been stalking Craigslist here in the St. Louis area, and there seems to be a few male geckos for sale. I think the biggest thing is for each male you have, you have to have a separate tank setup. I personally am fine with either male or female. The only reason i think most people really look for a male is for breeding purposes.

Wish I were closer, I'd pick one up. I have a preference for male animals, except with dogs. I like the laid back personality of males, and when it comes to dogs.. well I don't care to look at there junk exposed all the time..
