So, I'm kind of down today because I tried breeding Joplin to Jethro and she is laying eggs, but she's only giving me duds. I was SOOO excited for this clutch she laid today, and they looked good from the bottom of the lay box, but when I dug them out, they were nothing but soft water sacks.
I have no idea why this is bothering me so much, but it really has me kind of sad. It's got me kind of discouraged about breeding my first year females next season. I just HATE watching my girls ovulate for nothing.
Anyway, I was downstairs earlier, and I saw Reckoner looking at me from her enclosure. And I decided it was time to lift my spirits. So, I brought her upstairs and snapped some shots.
She's just so beautiful, and SUCH a friendly gecko. She lets me hold her and rub her head.
She really helped me feel better.
Her eyes are just so gorgeous. I LOVELOVELOVELOVE enigma eyes.
And again with having to flash my flash AT her.
Now, here's a pic where I turned the flash head up towards the ceiling.
See how the lighting is...harsh in the first few shots, but in this shot it's softer and...truer? But because the light doesn't hit her eyes, she looks like she has a solid eye.
Now you can see her pretty orange/red eyes.
They're almost like a red amber color.
I am just liking this gecko more and more and more.
She's such a sweet heart.
