Shedding.

Just a question but when Gecko's are shedding do they get angry or something.. Mine was changing colour so I picked her up and went to pet her and she freaked out and ran away.. but I checked back and she had gained her colour back and I had checked for skin and found some..

So I was just wondering if when they are in the process of shedding if they tend to get a little angry.

Thanks very much.

Not that I have noticed with mine. I'm sure that some of them can feel vulnerable during the shedding process though. How old is your gecko?

I still stay with my original guess that she just feels vulnerable while shedding. Do you have any other problems with her when she isn't shedding?

No she is perfectly fine when she isn't shedding.. I can hold her pet her and she doesn't do anything.

You have to remember that when they go into shed they also shed part of the film on their eyes. Maybe she cant see you very well and it scares her.

I know whenever I get sunburned and my skin peels, the skin underneath is usually raw to the touch for a day or too. I'd imagine that a lizards skin might also be sensitive after a shed, and touching them might be highly irritating.

all 4 of mine get grumpy and don't want touched when shedding and from what I have read it is normal
