Sick Gecko

I have a normal leo that is a juvenile and his very skinny not accepting any food even if I use a tong. He closes his eyes almost all the time, the only exception is when he comes out of the cage. It seems like he either has a parasite or is super stressed out, but one thing is sure he does not want to eat anything. My temperatures are fine and I have all the necessary hides and even a humid hide and the substrate is paper towels so I am not quite sure what else to do at this point.

He also seems to have been cut behind his neck and is starting to pre-maturely shed because of it. The skin looks really raw he has been in his humid hide the whole week except for this afternoon he seems to only be outside of the humid hide.

Any comments would help!

Oh by the way my name is Taylor and I am new to GF lulz...

Hi Taylor, is there anyway you can post a photo of it. How long have you had the gecko? Any ideas on how the cut occurred? What have it's defecations looked like?

Here is a pic of his skin really raw and somewhat bleeding. I have had him since the middle of June and he was a little bit fatter when I got him but he is completely disinterested in food and closes his eyes almost always. The cut was recent and I do not know how it could have happened, he is the only gecko in my tank.

That photo isn't working. You might try uploading it to the site. Click the go advanced tab then paperclip icon. Or you can upload it to photobucket then paste the img tag into the post.

Welcome to GF, Taylor. I'm sorry to meet you on such terrible circumstances. It's never easy to lose an animal you've become attached to. Hopefully you will still continue with this hobby, as it is a very rewarding one. :) I'm sorry for your loss.

Yup I am hopefully going to get another leo, on another note do you normally bury a dead gecko or dispose of the body a different way?
