In a few hours, I will have a NEW little man in my life. Just the other day I purchased a very impressive specimen from a wonderful breeder in BC. (She let me pet a LEACHIE. The baby was SO freakin' cute. I love their 'mitts'!) But what I got wasn't a leachie it's a leo! I'm thinking of naming him Bahamut. He's very cute, laid back and is a carrot tail baldy. He's almost ENTIRELY orange with the brighter part being at the base of his tail. The rest of his tail is white with lavender spots.
I've got a nice tank all set up for him. It's a ten gallon, but I hope to upgrade when I start working again and have more money. He'll be riding home with my in-laws. Don't worry though; I rigged up a nice travel package for him; carrier with tea towel and rolled up newspaper for him to hide in. The carrier is in a bag with an electric blanket stuffed in the bottom so hopefully he'll feel safer in the dark. I also got a digital thermometer to make sure he doesn't get too cold or too hot.
I gave my in-laws a quick rundown of leo care so he should be okay. I'll be sure to take pictures when he comes home!
