When I purchased my first breeding colony of leos.I happen to get three jungle stripes, what would be a good morph to breed them too, they are all male.I have a female shtct that I could breed to one or will that not be a good idea?

No maybe I wasn't clear I have other males.I Just have three jungle stripes that are of age and weight.I also have one supposedly high yellow he is of age and weight too,and one unknown morph but he is too young to breed I was just curious on the jungle cause I have more than one I have all together 8 females too breed them to of those I have a supposedly female high yellow and one shtct and 6 unknowns.I just wanted to know about the jungle because they were the only ones that weren't normal besides the shtct.

Ahhhhh!!! Depending on the genetics, if you breed a jungle to a normal or SHT, you will bet some aberrant patterns in the offspring. If the SHT is really hypo, it can cansel out some of the jungle patterning.

Can you post photos of the geckos?

Unfortunatley I cannot post any pics, I don't have internet.Yea I know your asking huh how do you get on here huh well I get on here from my blackberry. The only way is to send pics to someone which is how I have been confirming my leo morphs I send pics of them to the breeder since, I can't post pics on the website from my blackberry. That's why I usually never post in here cause, why ask when they can't help and see so that's why, and sorry for the essay

Some of my favorite people are from the Bay area, where it's not out of the realm of possibilities! Non-judgemental is our middle name!! Breed on! :main_laugh:

On a more serious note, It sounds like you got plenty of geckos with little to no background info. I would suggest documenting your breeding trials, cause you need to have a handle on the genetic history of the parents to move forward. You'll just have to work backwards if any recessive traits show up!

Best of luck with

Bobby and Bobbi
Charlie and Charley........

Yea I purchased 12 leos for 100 dollars and I thought it was a good deal but now I'm not so sure cause I don't know if they are morphs or het for anything so I guess I will have to breed and see if anything happens

Yeah you've got an issue for sure! If you're going to sell babies to the local pet store then you have a breeder group. My guys don't care about the morph because they are all leopards to them. This is where most "possible hets" are destined for. Proving out is (possibly) a multi generation commitment.

If you hope to have any "control" over the offspring, I'd sell these off and buy 1 or 2 morphs with a known background. You got into the adults SO cheap that you'll easily come out ahead on the deal!

I wouldn't dream of telling you the "right" thing to do but bear in mind that it will be several generations before you can be sure what you're working with. The other side of the coin is that not knowing what may hatch will be a blast. :main_robin:

Well I do agree with you I'm going to keep them just for the what if I do have something and don't know it,but I am going to purchase known morphs and incorporate them into and see what I get.

Equal rights for all Leos, lol. You do realise that gay people aren't just confined to The Bay Area, right? JK.
