You remember these popped up out of his Bell line right... I don't think he would've noticed the spots because they eventually fade to normal. He definitely could've sold many Bells that were carrying the gene. We'll just have to wait and see when I breed my oldest one back to his mother.

i see some others enigma from others breeders...but kelli enigma are the better geckos i've never see! lotta, i agree with you when you say "she is the picasso of the geckos"

From last I heard Mark Bell wasn't certain where these really came from and just speculated that it hatched from his bell line. However Kelli's breedings have proven the trait to be dominant. Which throws things for a loop all together, regaurding where they came from. . Since the trait is dominant the (normal:main_angry: ) enigma form, should be seen as the normal, spotted, leos we started out with. Which is the reason I think people see normals pop up from time to time when breeding jungles and stripes.
Breed a normal to a Bell and you get normal babies het bell.

Enigmas x bell = Enigmas het bell:main_thumbsup:

Actually, unless the clutch Kelli showed from red eyed Enigma x Patternless was a fluke, Enigma x anything but Enigma = 50% Enigmas. Also, I'm not saying my female came from an Enigma. I'm saying it could be one of the original gene carriers.

In six months when Special Bell x BSB eggs hatch and I get Enigmas you can be first on my list! ;)

Those are stunning. How are people getting them? Who are the breeders besides Kelli? I'd love one of hers-hmm Kelli, we're due with our second baby in July-hint hint hint.

Anyone (You Kelli or ...?) will have this morph on Hamm Terraristika in March 2007 only to show other people or for sale? :D

The Bells had them available at the two last Hamm shows (in september and in december). They had "normal" Enigma females available.

Kelli is working with Mark and Kim Bell to prove out these intriguing new morphs, just like she did for them with the Bell albinos. Kelli single-handedly put the Bell albino on the map, and if anyone can understand how the Enigma's genetics work, it's her.

Generally speaking, Mark and Kim Bell cannot be bothered with giving out information or selling individual geckos, so get the Bell albinos from her. You will get a beautiful, healthy, robust gecko from her no matter what the morph is.
