Its nice that you show an interest in reptiles. But the problem i see is this. 600 dollars will get you geckos and maybe a place to put them. It also depends on what kinds of geckos you want to breed. I wanted to breed bells and they are nice to me so i easily spent over 600 on them alone. Consider that. Also, it isn't a good idea to just start because you have some money laying around. You will need a job to keep up with the continual costs (and that job shouldn't be selling geckos). In my opinion 600 is way way too little. Maybe if you wanted to breed some pet store mutts ad incubate in a cooler possibly. But dont forget all of the costs. n my experience i spent WAYYYYY much more than i planned, my story sounds eerily like your plan. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU GET INTO. I'm just trying to say this not to sound harch but it is a lot... of cash and space. A job is very important, without mine i would have had to forfeit the whole thing. I was in your situation when i started a while ago, i posted questions like you and i got responses like this. I didn't listen like i should have. Again, not trying to be rude, i would love it if eveything went well for you but just be sure befor you jump into it. And also, i once watched my neighbors guinea pigs for3 weeks. They were really "adorable". So i got two, one which was pre-hit at the petstore so i eded up with 3 more, two of which i gave away so now i have 3. I'm 16 and stuck with 3 rodents that i got because i thought they were cute. not that i don't tak care of them or anything like that, but it got old after a while. the excitement dies down. Just be wary. But good luck and review my thread. dont make the same mistakes i did. Have fun!

If you start off caring for a single animal or even two, for a year or so then only breed a single female after doing your research, I see nothing wrong with it. You can very easily remain under $600 if you aren't trying to breed the biggest and best lizards right off the bat. I wouldn't increase breeding females by more than one a year if you think you can handle it after the first go around.

Granted you always risk a vet bill but if you take good care of your geckos the chances are greatly reduced.

I think the point of having a forum is to post your questions in a thread. That way the infromation can be accessed time and time again in order to help people. Not PM them. If you started a Breeding Log you could ask any small questions you have as the pop up, and build a database of people to help answer them as time stretches on.
