Heather, what pill are you on now? I just started the pill for the first time since I was 18. I started on Sunday which was cycle day 91 for me! I am so ready to feel somewhat normal again. Being on the pill will help you for when you want to have kids. I got pregnant with my daughter a few months after getting off them. Unfortunately, I've never been able to carry a pregnancy to term again. I wish you the best of luck when you're ready.

Kasey, I hope you get your results soon. I'm amazed at how many of us here have PCOS. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago and had never even heard of it.

i am on yaz, i dont know if i like it or not.

Actually, I can get an IUD at my age. My gynecologist is urging me to get one if my uterus checks out okay. :) Young women can get them now.

ya rly.

I was on Yaz low dose and it made me kind of nuts like I was saying earlier. I'm planning on getting the Mirena IUD when my uterus checks out clean (hopefully no tumors/growths/etc).

I want my results :(

I started loestrin. It's not too bad after the first few days of migraines I had. I won't really know how I'm doing on it for a couple months though.

My cousin had one until it moved out of place and malfunctioned, opps. She miscarried though. I personally went on that shot thing that you get every 3months, it was horrific, I felt like a 900lb wilda-beast, lmao.

Now I'm on the Ortho-Eva patch.

The shot is AWFUL. It's like "Here, take this to make you psychotic and fat at the same time". No thanks.

LoEstrin is a low dose b/c pill. It's actually good for your skin too, like many of them are. I still found that I gained weight from it though. I've also been on regular stregnth b/c pills without any kind of problem, and i've been diagnosed with bipolar disorder as well. I guess it just depends on the type of medication they put you on to treat you...I know that certain medications can definately NOT be used with b/c pills.

I tried the patch too, but it kept falling off me, LOL.

So now, since they said I need SOMETHING to control those awful cysts from coming back, they put me on The NuvaRing. So far, so good. No weight gain or mood swings, so i'm good to go, I hope. ::knocks wood::

That sucks that you haven't gotten your results back yet...I hope you do soon, Kacey!

HA. I finally got my results. Evidently the hospital forgot to fax my results over to the clinic last week... I found this out yesterday after trying to get a hold of an actual person at the clinic for DAYS.

I have small cysts in my right ovary. My left ovary had a bit of a problem getting imaged because it was pushed far back in my body or something strange like that. I know they had trouble finding it while I was getting the sonogram done (uncomfortable, to say the least).

Other than that, my uterus looks healthy and nothing is abnormal apart from the cysts. :) I'm getting my IUD on monday.

I'm glad you finally got your results. I was lucky to have my doctor do my first ultrasound, so I had my results right away. Having PCOS and cysts suck, but it's good you know about it early. Good luck with the IUD.

Around.
Kasey, I'm 24, no kids and I've had 2 IUD's... I was in so much pain the second time I bawled. They had to take me to the hospital to have it done, this is because I can't take any hormonal birth control because I have blood disorder. Anyways the mirena made me bleed for 2 months. And I had the paraguard too and that's a whole nother story. If you want to talk about it more in private I will, although I haven't had good results. My advice take a lot of pain meds.

The shot is HORRIBLE! I was like wear off already, lol. And I'm having the same issue with the patch, water-proof my left foot! The other day I accidently ripped it off, it seems that one of the edges turned up and stuck on to my jeans. I was in a hurry to use the bathroom so I ripped off my jeans and I let out a yelp, lmao I saw my skin came off with it.

I'm about to give up on all this BC and become celibate, it'll make my life a hell of a lot easier, lol

I think so, but I'm not sure. There are only 4 days of the fake iron pills, too, so that will be nice (if it works). It's Loestrin 24 FE.

ok so i got a call from the vag doctor's nurse and they are changing me from the yaz to this exact medication! i cross my fingers it works :D

Oo.. I have no medical reason, just not to get pregnant, lol. My doctor said he writes out too many prescriptions for the Plan B pill that he urges all his patients that aren't actively trying to get pregnant to have a back-up Plan A, lmao.
