Spots suddenly appear

We got a Tangerine at Christmas--she seems fully grown at about 8" long and is settling nicely, eating crickets/mealworms. When we got her she had 10 Black spots on her head. Suddenly this week there are some more brown spots on her head, they seemed to appear overnight. Is this normal or an indication of illness? I must add that I have two small children who help me take care of the gecko and, under interrogation, insist that they have not speckled the gecko with marker. I now know why the terrarium came with a lock. On a related note: anyone interested in a new morph covered with purple smilies and blue stars??

I have had certain morphs of gecko gain spots pretty suddenly, especially stripes and tangerines. How old is she? Chances are it's normal color progression.

The same thing has been happening to my leo each time he sheds. But he is a normal and is very young.

that is a pretty big change. Newton has had a few shed like that for me where she sems likea whole different leo when she is done
