Squamata SIM / Question?

I just purchased a couple of the SIM containers and they suggest to put some air holes in the container. Where should I put these air holes and what is the easiest and cleanest looking method. These containers are $$ and I don't want to destroy them. :main_yes:

I personally do not use air holes... No need in my opinion... My partner uses them... You can go either way... If you do not wish to add them, your eggs will still do fine...

If you want to add air holes, you can put two small ones in the lid if you like...

Sorry for the delayed reply, but thank you, I'm going to go with-out holes. Thanks again for the advice!

I have tried a sim with and without air holes in the lid and there was no difference in development or anything. I put one egg in each from the same clutch and they hatched the same day with no variation to anything within or outside the container.

I only had 1 egg loss during incubation this past season (using nothing but SIM containers). Other people had a lot of egg loss trying to dial in their SIM container for their incubator (I use Nature Spirit incubators). The "normal" method works very good as well...just need to make sure your mix is right.

If your asking if the SIM is worth it...Yes, I think it is.

The SIM container works perfectly in most incubators without any modification... The only time you need to modify the container is if you are using hovabators or other top heated incubators... If you order a SIM and you use a hovabator or top heated incubator, you need to specify so we can send you the modified lid...

We found this out when the product was out there already... Some people reported denting of the eggs while using the SIM in the hovabator... We quickly came up with a solution that works great and has made the SIM/hovabator combo very successful...

I've been looking at trying out the SIM method and was wondering how many leo eggs fit in container? Trying to see how many containers I should buy. Thanks!
