I wouldn't use vaseline to get stuck shed off. Just grab the gecko securely and use your finger nail to get the edge of the skin and pull it off. It should come off fairly easy with out anything and it won't hurt the gecko.

Your gecko does look like a Mack Snow but without knowing what it looked like as a hatchlings or test breeding it, there is no way to tell 100%. Did you get it from someone who hatched it?

I know everyone has different ways of dealing with things. There is absolutely nothing wrong with vasoline. Leave it on long enough to soften it up then take the old skin off and wipe clean.

You are right, there are different ways of dealing with things. I never said that it is absolutely wrong to use vasoline. I just said I wouldn't use it. It is my opinion. No matter how it's used, vasoline doesn't come off easy.

Whatever minor left over residue is left gets easily obsorbed (no harm) in no time. To each his own though. Sorry for hijacking the thread..lol.

Vaseline is a by product of curd oil.
I wouldnt put that on MY nose let alone my geckos.
Thats just my two cents.

If you've ever worn makeup, or any other body product, its all made from the same base.

Again theres nothing at all wrong with it. Aaaand thatll be my last defense of vasoline. I really dont care as much as it seems I do....lol

Just leave that tiny bit of shed alone, it will fall off of its own accord or with the next shed.
strips like that will not harm the gecko if left on because it is not constricting blood flow for example on toes, fingers and tail tips.

Shes also looking a bit under weight,
What/ how often do you feed and what are your heating methods/ temps?
