Is not the eclipse gene that should cause the gecko to be all black, but the Mack snow gene, the eclipse should just lock in the color.

I see what you are saying but I honestly do not see it happening... I am fairly certain that the only way we will be seeing an all black leo is when a genetic melanistic pops out... At this rate it is bound to happen sooner or later... I just do not see this as a thing that can be achieved by mixing morphs...
Thats just my personal opinion...

Good luck with that though...:main_thumbsup:

I have to agree with Gregg on this one-the genetics of this ostensibly "black" gecko are by no means cut and dried. I give it a 50% chance of success. And even if/when it IS successful, a lot of line breeding will be required to get a really nice "Black Leopard". Or, better yet, "Black Panther"!

Hey, can I copyright a new gecko name without actually breeding it first?:p

Anyway, it will be interesting to see who comes up with it first. Ron has the advantage of numbers, and a few weeks head start with the first Super Raptor-but there's a big random genetic factor here, so Alberto has almost as much chance. At any rate, I know they are both good friends and whoever gets it, the first call of congrats will be from the other....
