hey guys,

I have 2 albinos and are curious which strain they are. I'm sure that many of you are tired of answering this question but if you could answer it one more time I would appreciate it.

The first 2 pics are one gecko (obviously) and the 3rd is of the second gecko.

Thanks.

I'd say Talbino normals.

just to let you know the talbino thing messes up people even more than they already are. new people are not going to know that a talbino is a tremper albino, so i must ask you to use the term tremper albino so it lessens the confusion.

They are not the same strain. I've proven that by breeding them to each other and the babies hatched out normal looking, or as you guys call them "mutts". You can see a pic of the first baby I hatched from this pairing in the "show off your leos" threads.

I've always said Talbino in the UK.So i'm not going to swip and swap terms of Talbino/Tremper albino between here and there i'm happy with Talbino. As Talbino is only short hand of Tremper albino anyway i haven't change to morph name.I use to write it as T_albino but i thought what the point of the _ it may as well be Talbino. If some people need informing to what a Talbino is i'll tell them. The biggest half of us UK say Talbino that where i'm from.I've seen people lost by the term Tremper also. When someone says i've been sold a Albino. Then someone says yes it's a Tremper "as not everyone say Tremper albino".The the owner of the leo says but i was sold it as a Albino ?.So they still have to explain the Tremper is a strain of Albino.

I think you find a new person will catch on pretty fast. It's all info to them and they soon get it that Tremper albino and Talbino is the same thing.

Then the darker one is a Talbino normal and the paler one a Ralbino normal.

Talbino X Rallbino = Normal HET Talbino,Ralbino.

hmm if they have not proven out then the darker one is a tremper albino and the lighter one would be a rainwater albino. neither one are bell albino though

+1

That was what I thought from the beginning. I don't usually see light Trempers like that but that's all I see with Rainwaters

The a very valid point.Robin you say Dookie brown for a (Dark)Talbino. When the common known trade name is Chocolate albino.

it actually was a dookie brown before it was a chocolate LOL because those are what "normal" tremper albinos looked liked back when they were first released. i used dookie brown as a silly term and will explain that dookie browns are my name for a dark tremper albinos. i started calling dark tremper albinos dookie browns a long time ago. but neither here nor there this is not about what we call stuff. it is about what he has. i just asked you nicely to use the proper terms or at least explain them because it is easier for people to understand the terms tremper albino, rainwater albino and bell albino. talbino and t-albino can also be confused with t+ albino, tryonaise positive albino, which all three strains of gecko are.

sorry for the off topic. i will not do it again, please accept my apologies for getting off topic :)

I've never wrote it as T-albino coz of T-albino.I use to write it T_albino.But it's coz of the T+albino and T-albino thing that's why i snapped it together as Talbino. It's far less likely to and as of so far noone has confused Talbino with T+albino or T-albino.

Your apology is accepted. I have to say this is the first time I saw talbino and ralbino and was a little confused.

So if I breed her back to the male which is the assumed rainwater, I should receive 50% rainwater albinos and 50% hets for rainwater, correct? If someone could check my math...;)
