Okay there is a guy i have sold many geckos to he is familar with my photography.. we'll call him rick

Rick texts a pic and said is this yours..

it was..

The guy selling well call him Steve. did buy this gecko 2 months ago. (long after breeding season for her)

steve said that the photo he sent was the mother of a baby SHT that he is trying to sell to rick. he said the mother is a sunglow father is a SHT. and that he bred the baby gecko

meanwhile, steve is trying to sell me the gecko also.

I ask him what the parents are he says I think a SHT and a Giant SHT.


Im interested how you can get a gecko finsihed with her breeding season to hatch a gecko and and in 2 months have it well over 20 grams.

Im not sure I'm following you right, your post is kind of confusing, but I have several hatchlings that are 2 months old and are 25-35 grams each.

right you cant have a gecko lay an egg.. incubate it and hatch it and grow it to this size 20+ grams in... (just checked dates) 6 and a half weeks.

If this Rick person is selling babies that are not what he says, I think you should make a business inquiry about him here so others can be warned. I understand protecting privacy but when it comes to things like this, imo, he loses his right to privacy..

he has one for sale.. he isnt really someone one to worry about.. if he starts to grow ill inform..but as of nowh he only has a couple geckos

I agree with Marcia that you need to do something. I think you should call the guy first and talk to him one on one. Let him know that you know what he is doing and that the reptile community will catch on quickly if he doesn't stop.

I agree with Justin, that you should call the guy and ask him point blank what's going on. It's possible that he made a simple mistake by getting geckos confused. But if he didn't then let him know you're posting on the BOI. There's no shame in reselling geckos, for whatever reason, but there is shame in lying about it.
