That reminds me of another Rott I've known...

Thanks Ken :) That's a great story.

In my experience with rottweilers, I've NEVER had an aggressive rott. There is a big difference between being protective and being aggressive, people sometimes get that confused.

Both of our males have been VERY protective over our niece and nephews when they would come over. Even when we would all go swimming, they would try and pull the kids out of the water...puncturing their floaties every time!

I have had many breeds of dogs; Labs, Goldens, Huskies, Jindo, but Rottweilers are by far my favorite. There are just so many bad-bred, not health tested dogs out there...it's sad that irresponsible people are ruining such an amazing breed of dog.

He would try to rescue anyone who jumped into the swimming pool, just like in your story. Once he went through a sliding glass door, the ever present hero. His name is Bubbalius Bronson The Third.

Amen to that, Heather! They are such stinkin' cute little pot-belly babies! I can almost smell the puppy breath! I, for one, am also glad you don't live closer! :D We really love the Danes, but we both have a soft spot for Rotties, as well. I having had one and Shawn had a friend with a couple that he spend a lot of time with and loooved them! ;)

Mari, you'd fall in LOVE! The first Rottweiler that Danny and I got as a couple was from a certain line called the Crni Lotos lines: http://www.crnilotos.com/home.htm Since that dog, we have always had at least one dog in our house from those lines...mostly from Ramzes Crni Lotos (google that dog's name and you'll be AMAZED). http://www.rivendellrottweilers.com/dog/ramzes-crni-lotos.htm

We've owned a grandson of his, and two sons of his. Once you find a good line, it's hard to accept anything else. It's the most docile, HUGE, teddy bear, but brick wall line of rotts. All health tested to the hill, and titled like crazy(check out Ramzes' show history, he used to be, and maybe still is the most titled Rott in the US).

These dogs are just an amazing, unique breed that it breaks my heart to see in situations that are less than what they deserve.

And by the way, I am currently working on how to BOTTLE puppy breath smell lol...it is awesome!

Wow! Very impressive dog, Heather! I agree that once you find bloodlines you like, you don't want anything else! It's hard to find what your personal preference is as far as conformation, type, temperament, etc. There's so much variation within one breed!

Mama looks tired, but great, Heather! Thanks for keeping us updated! I can't wait for more pics!

btw: on Dogs 101 on Animal Planet, they have Rotties on TV right now! lol

Well the little ones are a week old, and at LEAST doubled in size! These guys are giant puppies, probably because they aren't having to fight for a nipple lol. Some quick pics...

They're getting huuuuge!

We're at the 2 week mark, and they are growwwwing! They have all doubled in weight, and are complete porkers. They've more than doubled their birth weights and are weighing in around 4 lbs, a few ounces in either direction. Big puppies! Here are some current pics, and a video of MoMo, the cat cleaning one of the babies after we gave it a bath (they looove rolling in their poop!)

Lol yes, Korean newspaper. My husband is Korean, but doesn't read in Korean. My MIL brought all the newspapers over for us to use :)

I'm not going to name them, because I do not want to become emotionally attached. Until they go to their forever homes their names are Big Girl, Big Boy, Little Boy, and Tiny...even though they are practically all the same size :)

Well I've always wanted a TRUE Maine Coon, so I guess we're even lol! They really are getting huge fast though. I think that has to do with there only being 4 puppies, and 8 nipples...no lack of food, or competition for these little guys!

They are already up and hobbling around..I should get video of that soon, it's too cute!

Speaking of, here is the video I forgot to post of MoMo cleaning the baby:

Awwww! Too cute :) That's funny, my boyfriend is Korean but he can't read a lick of it either.

I always joke to my husband, calling him my "English Korean man" :main_laugh: He can't even FLUENTLY speak it. He can understand it, but is almost uncomfortable sounding when he speaks it. He's just grown up here in Oregon his whole 32 years, with all English speaking friends.

Pft, mine can't even speak it but it's acceptable because his mother was adopted from Korea when she was three and can't speak or read any herself. I told him I'm more asian than he is because I'm near fluent in Japanese.

LOL that is hilarious! My MIL tells my husband I'm more Korean than he is because I eat all her Korean food (it's AMAZING), even when offered American food :)

Well they are all up, waddling around, and eyes are open! They are 3 weeks now, and weighing in at a whopping 5 lbs lol...biggest being 5.5 lbs!! Here are some updated photos...and a super cute video of me playing with one that had an "attitude"...I love this stage, when they start getting vocal, and responding to stimuli. Love it!
They are ALWAYS sleeping!
