Still haven't found him. He's been missing almost three weeks... seems like three years. :main_no:

Can anyone offer advice as to how long a leo can survive without food or water?

I'm at my wits end and even though I've had excellent advice from you gracious members and followed it, it has not been successful so far.

What can I do?

:main_huh:

they can go a couple weeks. they use their fat in their tails. my advice is to start with the room he was lost in and take EVERYTHING OUT. if hes not there. move on to next room and take everything out. hope you find him soon. ):

get the temps in your house real cold, get a human heat pad with a hide on it.the leo will seek warmth which is the hide on the heat pad

I would even try putting cricket keeper with some crickets (lid on) on the floor near a heat source. my bearded and frog used to go crazy if I set the bag with crickets too close to their cage before feeding or putting in the cricket keeper. hope you find him one way or the other just so you know what happened to him

The only thing I could think of is maybe investing in a motion detector type camera. Or just a regular old camera, pointed towards various different places? Maybe that would help?

I hope you find him!!

when u go to bed at night close all the doors to each room so it can't travel between each room. put newspaper or sheets of paper everywhere and cover the sheets with a thin layer of flour. each morning check these sheets for prints. if u see any u have narrowed it down to that room. leave a bowel of water in each room for it.

I had an escapee missing for nearly 3 months, and she did just fine. In the 16 years I have been keeping leopard geckos, I've had my share of MIA's. I've found every one of them when I wasn't looking for them!

This would be one of my greatest fears, I don't mind (as long as I am in the room and keeping an eye on them), of letting my guys out, my beardie loves to explore, Merlin would rather just sleep, so I generally leave him alone. I hope that you find him!

I had one of my geckos go missing for 3 1/2 months. I found her down 2 floors from where her tank was. She hadn't lost that much weight. I guess she lived on some escaped crickets and any other bugs that were around. She has bounced back quite nicely and is one of my biggest females. Don't give up. You may find it when you least expect it.

I have a friend in Minnesota where their leo got out for 8 months, I believe. It was in the winter months, too. She found him 8 months laters and he lost no weight and was perfectly healthy! There's hope, my friend!

Hi, Everyone!

Never will I ever thank this site enough for the tremendous sound advice and support!!!

Sadly, I still haven't found him. However, the words of encouragement here have made my plight easier to deal with. :main_yes:

Alls I can say is before he escaped my care, he was extremely healthy and fat-tailed. I can only hope he either survives because of this or, hopefully, will come out for me to see because he's hungry so I might grasp him and put him where he truly belongs;

In his heated cage with water and a fresh supply of fat meal worms.

With y'alls' help I'm still very hopeful that this situation will finally turn out for the better.

Thanks ever so much, EVERYONE; again!

Well, this Thursday will make 30 days without his ususal living environment.

I'm just hoping that he'll come out someday.

I've owned other reptilrs, mainly boas, pythons and baby gators. I loved them all but . . .

My theory is every reptile has one prime directive:

ESCAPE....:)

What do ya'll think?

Look here, i have been taking care of reptiles while you were a piece of dna. I'm not sure who you think you are, delusions of grandeur, but you are a child. No, you're an infant and most likely will always be that way! Take care.

Update to those that have a mind higher than an imbecile such as sure an anus...:)

I still have not found my beloved Tico. I have not found any droppings or seen any tracks from the flour i have left on my uncarpeted floors. It's almost like he just disappeared. It's been a bit over two months now. Do ya'll think he's still alive?
