I have a calcium dish on my girls tank and have seen em all eat some... but I saw the tiniest of trembling on one of them so I decided to dust the mealies and put some extra calcium on that dish too.... THEY HATE IT! (I give 'em a drop of vits, D3 included once a week and gutload the mealies)

I'd swear the more outgoing one is mad at me since she's staring at me while she scratches the glass..... Next thing you know she'll go RAWR...

yeah mine doesn't seem to eat near as much when I dust them. Maybe about half what he eats when they're not dusted.

mine loves the t-rex leopard gecko dust, but just straight up calcium dust not so much. as long as they eat some of the bugs with it, it's better than nothing.

I use the T-rex carnivore formula with no phosphorus, the annoying thing is that they'll eat a good amount of calcium from the dish... and a good amount of mealies... but nooot together, just a few ¬¬... I'm givin' em a week to see if they get used to it...

Tnx for answering! :3

I've tasted my calcium powder before. Its taste-less. My Leop doesn't seem to notice it on the bugs.

I trick my gecko that doesn't like dusted bugs. I'll feed a few (I hand feed by tongs) without calcium powder and as soon as he starts really getting into it I'll slip him some that are dusted. He catches on after a few but I just repeat the process til dinner is done.

Some geckos are just picky I guess. My SHTCT couldn't care less if they're dusted or not, or what you're actually feeding him, he's such a fatty and inhales food as soon as you put it in front of him.

Guess they're all just crazy, they do nib a very good amount of calcium as long as it's separated, but since I dusted the bugs they don't eat as much (the first day they ate none), buut, they're not loosing weight or acting weird (apart from the RAWR part the first time I dusted). It's not a lack of apetite 'cos the moment they see an undusted mealie in front of em they go for it ¬¬...

Tasted the thing, not completely plain but not bad either... maybe it's the feeling their food is "dirty".... darn pampered girls...

Heres a question... since it seems like most of the people on this board feed their geckos mealworms in a dish/bowl... could you put the calcium powder in the bowl first and then put the mealworms on top of the powder? Would like to know and possibly save myself a food dish (lack of space in the aquarium).

I toss mealworms in the calcium dish sometimes, but I make sure the powder isn't too deep or else they bury themselves and the gecko doesn't notice them.

I use the Repashy Calcium Plus and Puzzle loves it. He seems to like it more than the T-Rex stuff I used to use before I discovered the Calcium Plus. Other people have said their geckos' appetites increased with the Calcium Plus, also, although there isn't any concrete evidence it actually increases appetite. It's certainly worth a try, though. :)

I'm gonna try to find that brand... Since I live in Mexico, I don't have that many options :/

I have no idea if any of these will ship to Mexico, but you can email and ask. They also have an insect gutloader that I have found my crickets just love. Gecko Ranch (the first link) I believe has a username here, I just can't remember what it is.

Good idea. If you stock up, be sure to keep it in the fridge, it will stay fresh a lot longer.
