FYI, what you saw in the pic is the female Wagleri, this species is sexually dimorphic, the male one having the colors and patterns exactly like the one you have.
By the way, i'm from Malaysia - Penang:D, just got my Wagleri recently, it's cool!

Yup, that's true quan.. The pattern of the female seems like band, and the male ones just like a spot.. Thanks..

To make things even more confusing, some populations of wagleri have females and males with exactly the same color and pattern (males still being on average quite a bit smaller)! Fascinating snakes-I've always wanted to work with them. From what i hear they can be quite challenging.

Do you know how old the snake is? It looked small (but still very scary!), and I was just wondering how big they got at full size.

wow, beautiful :) i'm living in penang now and seriously i do not frequent that temple that much. not fond of the way they exploit the vipers and pythons there. :(
