This computer will run EVERYTHING. I mean it. ANY game that you throw at it, it will run.

Except the Sims 3.

I wish I knew why :\

I'll play and anywhere between 5 minutes and a half hour in, it just shuts down my computer. All the game's settings are at its lowest. And still...

Any suggestions?

Suuuucks. Runs just fine on the "family" computer.

Unfortunately, I'm not at home. I'm at school and all I have is my laptop :/

Dad works on computers for a living and swore up and down this one should be fine with Sims. He was wrong :(

This is not to be confused with the S.I.M. incubation container... If they crash your computer you are totaly not using them correctly... LOL

..you mean..they dont go into my disk drive? Well gee...after i spent all that time makin 'em fit...

Guess I'm just gonna have to return 'em!

The joy's of pc/laptop gaming. One peice of advice, use the laptop for the internet, watching movies, listeining to music and leave gaming to consoles.

Im speaking from personal experianc as i was for many years up untill recently a pc gamer and spent bloody shite loads of hard earnd money on a completely modded high performance gaming pc.
It can play crysis on max spec, don't know if you know but crysis was once considerd the universal benchmark as it was the most system/graphics intensive game ever made, months later and all the hardware people including myself bought thinking we would be able to play every game out and coming out for years without having to upgrade again only to find that within a month or so the hardware, graphics cards etc was obselete.

Pc gaming is just too much hassle. pc's and laptops in general are too much hassle, all the errors, crashes, non stop meaningless updates, having to patch all your games again and again and again, all the viruses, spyware, malware, etc etc. do yourself a favor, by a console, i did and havnt looked back, infact i sold every single pc game i owend(about 25 of them) and just recently sold my graphic card and ram.

In regards to laptop gaming, they simply arnt powerfull enough, you would have to spend several grand on a gaming laptop like Alianware laptops and even then the hardwhere in them will be obselete within a couple of months after buying it.

just my 2 c. cheers-

Since it's a laptop could it be heating up too quickly, I'd also suggest you compare your computer specs to that of the game. The Sims 3 is nowhere compared to the Sims 2 in computer specs. I loved the sims 2 and have almost the ENTIRE COLLECTION with over 2,000 custom pieces, game plays as smooth as can be with the Sims 3 I get the only lag when returning back to a lot and everyone looks retarded nothing like they did in CAS.

Specs are more than what's required for the game. And there's an extra fan below the laptop as well as the one that's a part of it.

Even though consoles are more reliable the sims just seems to lose it's charm on a console, lol. The PC version lets you play the way you want while consoles come with a purpose and a goal and thats not the way I like to play! I like to play God! lol

I personally don't think that the game is all that, I still prefer the sims 2 but I agree sunshinegeckofarm is takes forever to get it to work. I didn't have a problem with the base game but the minute I installed World Adventures I was going to throw my computer out the window. I finally got it to function a month later but I just lost interest hopefully one day I can pick it up again and enjoy.
