Well today I received an Eclipse male and was corious if he actually was a male. Then I realize that he doesn't look like a male doesn't have any noticeable bulges. So I also was courious on my female BB and noticed that she looks the same as the eclipse and get more cofused because the person who sold the BB told me that last year she didn't ovulated and this year I have not see her copulating with the male but she have been with the male for a week. Now I am very confused about the sex of both. I took both geckos to a Reptile Store and the owner though first that the eclipse was a male but just after watched the BB he get confused and then conclude both are females and he actually noticed that they where gravid. Let me know your opinions. The first picture is from the eclipse the second from the BB. Let me know if it is difficult to tell from these pictures.

Thanks

The thing is that the eclipse was incubated at 92ºF also I took 2 more pics to see if can see better. I compaired them to the ones that for sure I know that are females and they looks exactly the same to me. First one is the eclipse, second one the BB.

hmmm, i definitely cant tell for sure but ill share my very humble... guesses.

the picture on the left looks female to me. the one on the right may be a male tho because when i looked closely i could just barely make out the pre anal pores that males have.

Ahh the tail!!!! Also to get to the main point they have a slight bulge for females. But maybe they are late boomers and will get a large package. :)

Hey Richard. That Eclipse looks female from the pics as well. Besides bulges, you should be able to see the "V" shaped pores at that size as well. When females are "well fed" they can have small bulges that could be mistaken for hemipenes but pores are a sure sign it's male.

ahh, ok, so females can still have visible pores... theyre just faint. thanks tony c.

No problem. Here are some pics that really show the difference:

Female, pores visible but small, no wax

Male, large, waxy pores

Here is the thing. I put the eclipse with others females and nothing happened. I introduced her to my male BB and nothing happened. When I introduced her to my hypo this guy start rubbing his tail like marking territory and then he just try to bite her but no in the way of wanting to copulate just like fighting. I just get a magnification lense from my lab and this afternoon will check if he or she have pores. Thanks to everybody, if some people are confuse to determine if the eclipse is a he or she imagine how confuse I am that not have lot of experience as others.
