Well I saw a really cool looking W&Y enigma but im confused, I thought white and yellows where almost the same as enigmas just withouth the enigma syndrome, wouldn't crossing the 2 defeat the purpose of the W&Y?

But what if it does correct the syndrome?
I'm going to reserve judgement until I hear otherwise.

Has anyone heard otherwise? Directly from the person who did the breeding?
I asked, but I haven't gotten a response yet.

It looks like a W&Y + enigma to me...it's subtle, but it does look like it has both traits expressing. It's also a Bell het RADAR.

It has the enigma red-head and enigma whitish tail, but very W&Y dorsal/side patterning. There's the symmetry of enigma head pattern wrapped by a U-shape that I see on W&Y...

My jury is out until I hear how it affects the syndrome symptoms.

I almost wonder if they're on next-door loci to each other...

Well I had a lot written out but I dont feel like arguing right now. I dont think W&Y should be crossed with enigmas because there is enough confusion with the morph as is so why complicate them more with a gene which will complicate identification. Kudos to everyone working with W&Y and please keep good records so someone can finally provide detailed information on them.

Cheers

I might be wrong but from what I have heard is that it gives the same color enhancements that enigmas do but has not had the same nuerological effects that the enigmas can have. Its an "alternative" to enigmas. Correct me if my thinking is wrong.

The one I was thinking of I saw on FB.

Yes, it is another mixed morph. True.
Yes, that means everyone better keep awesome records, but shouldn't we anyways?

I'm just curious if these are actually more related traits than anyone thinks, and it may be very fanciful wishful thinking indeed. But it would be cool if the combination somehow helps the expression of enigma syndrome to not be so severe.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I just don't think I should judge before I know.

I don't think they mean that when mixed with an enigma that it deletes the syndrome or makes it less severe. I think what they mean is that when mixed with another morph it has the same advantages as the enigmas do without the disadvantages...so far....time will tell though.

as far as enigmas go I think they all have it to some degree but they might not "show" it at the moment. But that is a whole other arguement for another thread.
