This was from Radar Enigma x Radar. It was very weak and didn't live but a few hours. :(

I just thought I'd share because I've never seen anything like this before.

Ahhh what a shame, almost looks premature! Human premies have that translucent skin, kind of like a thin covering. Very Sad, the baby was very pretty , the coloring. :(

I know it would make sense for it to be underdeveloped, but it was not. No way. Even if that baby had survived, it was going to have the weird skin forever.

Incubated the normal range for male eggs, hatched on it's own, actually a bit above average size for a hatchling. And also did have pigment (which happens at the tail end of incubation). I've hatched out thousands of leopard geckos, I've hatched out dozens of premature babies, I've slit dozens of eggs and then tried to save extremely premature babies, and I am telling you guys, I have never in the past seen any baby leopard gecko that looked like this.

I think it was a random genetic mutation that not only causes the weird "see thru" skin, but also sadly, causes a very weak little hatchling. It just sucks that it didn't make it.

Very interesting! I sent you a PM about your photography.

This was a very big hatchling and doesn't look like a premie. I had real premies of half that size survive. Maybe you can hatch some translucent babies from the same pairing that survive? Who were the parents? If it's genetic, it might happen again down the line, unless it was a random mutation. There were other breeders who hatched babies with turquoise/bluish bellies (I don't know what became out of this in the end).

Did you do a necropsy to see if the organs were all formed correctly? Maybe you're on to something here, or at least it's something to be avoided. Thanks for sharing!

bummer, sorry it didnt make it. Really interesting tho. Id like to see other hatchling for that pairing when they hatch. Looks like theyll come out beautiful otherwise.

very neat, a shame it didnt make it though

i hatched what i was going to consider a "translucent" baby last season from my super raptor project animals. i hatched a couple super raptors, as well as SSBBs, so i was already familiar with the little solid pink/white guys hatching out....but this one was born WHITE (with solid red eyes), but i could see right through the belly like in your pics. it was definitely NOT like any of the super raptors ive seen, nor was it puny. it kept this clearish color for the month or so i had it,unfortunately the little guy escaped while i was out of town, never to be recovered.

That is very strange. Sorry it didn't work out. Wonder what caused it's stomach to be so translucent like that. I believe I saw someone asking if you did a necropsy on the little one, did you? If so what were your findings? It's just baffeling.

That looks just like mine when she hatched. No melanin at all. Even less than an albino, but in three months that changes drastically.

Sorry it didn't make it Kelli. I trust your judgment in that it is something truly unique and could possibly be a play of genetics. You have stated what the parents were...but I am curious as to specifics about their lineage. Could it be extensive inbreeding to prove a pure eclipse to cross to a bell which caused this, or could the lines have any possible hets which could have caused this. Be sure to keep us updated on other hatchlings from that pairing.
