I am thinking that this is just a normal. He is really light in his colors. Yellow and lavender. Spots look to be black and a few that appear to be a shade of brown. What do you guys think? Is he just a normal? Kind of looks like he is in shed all of the time but isn't. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

How can you see a het when part of the definition of being heterozygous is not showing/expressing the trait that is carried?

He looks to be Pastel/Lavender. It's basically the same as normal, but lighter colors.

Well I know that his dad is supposed to be het tremper and het patternless. Dad is normal. Mom is also normal purchased from a petstore. So I am not sure what she could be het for if anything. I will be breeding him back to her when he grows up. First pic is dad second is mom.

If you know what to look for, there are certain traits you can find in heterozygous animals. Can you be 100% certain it is a het??? No, but you can be "almost" sure if you know what you are looking for...

Almost all my het blizzards exhibit smaller and more abundant spotting than most..

I found this out when I bred a BB to a tang. I got about 50% really spotty looking normals (which most het blizzards are) and the others were like a pastel, Light normal expressing the het tremper part.

So the lighter colors can just be a sign that the gecko may be het. tremper? What about being Pastel? Our geckos that we believe to be Pastel also have a 50% chance to be het. Tremper lol.. so maybe they are not Pastel at all, but just carry hets? Now I am SUPER confused. :huh2:

We have some geckos with very little spotting, and some that are completely speckled, but the speckled ones are from a totally different mother than the ones with less spots.. so in our case, our geckos with reduced spotting are just that way because they are from a mother with reduced spotting.

I to agree with paul, it looks like every het Raptor I've ever hatched, the body shape and head and tail give it away also its clolors are light like all my het Raptors. So thats what I'd go with , Raptors have a distinguishable head and tail.
