What does Gecko Forums mean to you!

Gecko forums is a great community of like minded people with the same passion, Reptiles.

I myself was a complete NOOB in regards to geckos. i searched and searched books and online for the info I needed and answers to my questions. Then i found gecko forums and slowly but surely I learnt what i wanted to learn, my questions were swiftly answered and learn from the experience of others and will continue to do so.

Everyone is willing to give up a little of their time to answer questions or to offer advice either on the forum or on chat which i have frequented recently just to chat in general. So to answer the question.

Gecko Forum, just a great online community that i am glad to be a part of:main_thumbsup:

Preach on brother, This site is my vacation. I love it and always get right on it when I get home. Its is a peace of mind to know that I'm not the only reptile nut around, my wife thought I was crazy for a lot of years till this site made her realize theres tons of us reptile junkies. Thanks Eric for the post it makes you think about how much things mean to each of us, thanks Kelli and moderators for the best site around.

I know from experience, that some times in life, we take things for granted. I've been there, don't know what you got until it's gone! Not a good feeling. I'm curious what Gecko Forums means to people.

We've been breeding some kind of reptile for the last 10 years whether its Anoles, Veiled chameleons, Bearded dragons, or geckos. Until Marcia at Golden Gate geckos told me about this site, I was flying so to speak by the seat of my pants. We weren't doing a horrible job but it definitely could have been better. But I know if I would've had the Forums back than things would have been different. So to me Gecko Forums gives me a place to compare what I'm doing and what I could be doing differently. And the knowledge of all the breeders that take time out of there busy schedules to help us, is so very special to me! Its like we all have a personal pro helping us.

A social parlor! This is the most important thing to me. I've made friends here that will be with me forever!

I am blessed to have this web-site for so many reasons but the friends issue out ways all of them!

Thank you Kelli for bringing this to us, I'll never forget this! And to the moderators that keep this site happy and peaceful thank you!:main_thumbsup:

Hi, my name is Jenn, and.... I am a gecko addict....

GF is my fix!! A great source of all kinds of information and sharing between people with a passion for reptiles. I have learned SO much here and look forward to seeing everyone's gecko pictures! (THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO POSTS!!) Like many of you, there isn't anyone locally who enjoys them as I do and it is hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn't share that passion. I can always tell when someone is "politely" allowing me to ramble on about my hobby, the usual response is *smile*nod*uhh-huh*smile*nod*okay* Most people that I tell about my hobby say "really?? You don't look like someone who would be into that..." :main_rolleyes: :main_laugh:

I am very thankful that for Kelli and the moderators keeping the peace and making it a nice place to interact. This is the first forum I've ever joined and the only forum that I actually post on because I LIKE having the TOS enforced. People are people.... sometimes we have trouble playing nice in the sand box!

We all know this is the very best forum for leopard geckos, I have
learned alot, and it feels good to share my own ideas with others.

I wish I had something like this around when I first started, some
13 years ago. I was dumb and clueless, and did not know where
to turn for help. I was getting really bad advise from pet store
folks and from out-dated "gecko care" books!! I even lost a few
animals through stupidity

And this forum just keeps getting better :main_yes:

I wonder if the forum owner ever dreamed it would turn into something

For some reason most people don't expect a blond haired, blue eyed, ex cheer squad type to be into reptiles. I get the question "whyyyy...?" a LOT. I'm not only in this for the reptiles...this community keeps me going quite a bit. There are a lot of friends I've made on here that I talk to on the phone daily...that UNDERSTAND me. That's hard to find here in Oregon...its not like the East coast, where reptile people seem to be allover (you luck East coasters )

To me, GeckoForums will always be my "Thank You" gift to the leo community for helping me out when I was in need. I knew the site would be successful simply because it was something that the community was lacking and sorely needed, but I truly never thought it would grow to be this size.

Kudos to all the members here that make the site what it was meant to be: a community.

For me it has been a great source of knowledge. I have only been keeping these awesome little creatures for a year and a few months. I never really liked reptiles until my nephew got one. That was it I just fell in love with them. Since then I have tried really hard to learn as much about them as I can, and GF has given me allot. I have met some really nice people on here as well. It’s something that I would really miss if it was no longer here.

Unfortuently most of you guys are in the states/europe so I never have met you probaly never will so its hard to get attached to the forums.

You think you live far away, i live in Australia. I don't see the distance as a challenge or reason not to really get in to it and get attached as you say. I think its great that we are all from different corners of the world, from different cultures and backgrounds. Thats just a part of what makes this such a great and vibrant community. Everyone has something different to offer, knowledge, experience and different ways of doing things. its great. I even listen to Late Night Leos

this place is just the bottomless bucket of knowledge!!! i am 99% possitive that if i found this place a couple years ago when we took in 2 ill geckos that they would still be with us today... but here we are and this place rocks! always ansers to questions you have... and have seen some incredible leos... my head spins to just think of everything i have learned here... this is deffenitly a multi time stop in a day for me!!! thanks to everyone who make it possible

I think it would be interesting to Have like a Timer to See how many hours we put in on GF, Kinda like a Cell phones tell you how many hours you have been on it Lifetime... (Just some random Thought)

I love this site. It has been my default homepage since i started keeping leos! This site/people has taught me alot about them and their needs. Without this place...i would def have problems! Thank-you all!

There are not alot of "reptile" people in the town where I live so for me gecko forums is a place to share my love of these wonderful little creatures and not here "ooh or yuck". It has been a place to learn so much about the hobby. I can ask the silly questions and not be told how silly they are,lol. It has been a life line for many of my rescued babies. It is a place that we can share our grief when we loose one of our little ones and not here "it was only a reptile". This is a wonderful community and I thank kelli for starting it and all our wonderful moderaters for keeping it going for us.

Where else can you find a place where so many gecko pros and people congregate together and are so willing to welcome you in and share their advice and knowledge? GF is just awesome! I don't think I'd know half the things I do today if I hadn't run across this website (and I think my geckos are happy about that as well XD).

Also... Where I live is a really small town, middle of nowhere, so finding fellow reptile people can be kind of hard. Having somewhere to go that's nothing but reptile people (and specifically leopard gecko people!), it's the best thing ever .
