MG REPTILES stopped carrying heat tape ? When did this happen ? Where does everyone get there heat tape now ? And does anyone else offer the Johnson thermostats ?

I dont think it was the heat tape, from what I heard the owner was taking for ever to ship orders out and when people complained he flipped out and said alot of bad things, thats just what I gathered, didnt really follow it because I dont order from their anyway.

I was planning to switch to heat tape but I've heard too many stories about fires and tubs getting burnt (search the forum). I'm sticking to heat cable.

I use heat cable because I had two incidences of heat tape melting down, and almost cause a fire. You have to be careful with heat cable... if you let it touch itself it can cause it to burn out and stop working.

I personally like Bigapple. They may be .10 more but 1. there closer to me and I get the shipment next day with ground 2. They have low shipping as it is 3. They have GREAT! customer service and 4. They give you free stuff with a certain priced order..... me likey! lol :main_yes:

Its very simple, you can use it pretty much anyway, it will wrap around branches and stuff.

i also had problems with heat tape melting through one of my tubs, and almost catching my rack on fire. i switched to heat cable and have no complaints or problems with it so far.
