In reference to the BP, I will not get excited about it until I get to see a full grown adult. They have been producing hatchlings but for some reason there are no pictures of adults, only hatclings and juveniles! I am not saying that they are not legit but until I see proof that they keep the darkness as adults I will not be easily excited. I would like to see pictures of adults with the exact age of them.

If you check our previous threads regarding our Black Pearl project the gecko pictured is/was around 9 months then.

I think at this time the black pearl never matures back into a solid black gecko but they certainly keep the darkness, and in the flesh it isn't brown.

well... i didnt read this thread and i am going to see the most expensive thing are 2 things that arent on the market yet. the bell bliz and the bell patty. both are planned for the same price at release. neither have been combined with other things yet like the bell enigma radar. i am only talking about things that already exist. and for you to buy them...... they would be bell blizzards or bell patties

Too bad Bell Blazing Blizzards are going to drop like a rock in their second season on the 'market'... I'm guessing less than $300 by the year's end [2011]...

What's so special about a Bell Blizzard or Bell Patty to make them $3000+ animals?

The rarest leopardgeckos are not color morphs. The other species are way rarer. I know it, because I have first hand information.

well reason being is because as far as public knowladge goes there is only 2 bell patties in the world, one in america and one in europe. and 3 bell blizzards, 2 in america and one in europe. neither are "on the market" yet, and neither have been combined with other traits yet, IE the eclips, or enigma or even eachother.

That seems weird, it's a simple enough combination. Are they difficult to create for some reason, or is it just something that nobody has bothered to make?

people have been working on both for a very long time. I my self worked on the bell blizzard for the past 10 years. and i finally hatched one in 09. it seems simple, but there is something about the bell albino that doesnt sit quite right with other morphs. so yeah its a simple concept but it all depends on if the the 2 genes want to line up together or not.

That's crazy, congrats on finally hatching one. I can't imagine how exciting that was after working on it for so long.

I've seen pics of Mr Monster, he looks great, I just didn't realize how rare the combo was when I saw them.

too bad every morph does that mike.

Not quite... Single gene morphs always hold their value through two seasons... Even longer if the 'consumer' has to work with 'clean slate' geckos [without hets for other morphs]...

The reasons BBB's price will drop so fast are:

- Already lots of adult double hets out there

So unless only females are released there will be people who will breed males to huge numbers of females...

- The co-dom/dom combos release

There's probably just as many adult double het females of both Mack Snow and Enigma as there is 'normal' double hets... Mack Snow BBB and Enigma BBB will be out in droves in 2011...

I'm not trying to smack down the Bell Blazing Blizzard... It has always been my holy grail morph and I can't wait to hatch my own someday... Am I jealous of Nevin and Steve?

:main_yes:

Most expensive gecko in the world? Most of us don't have the need to know... :main_lipsrsealed::main_laugh: I'm sure there's entrepreneurs and collectors out there who will and have paid BIG bucks for one of a kind geckos [far more than the 3k cap] or 'animals' if you must... :main_yes:

I think there are more then 3 BBB

From geckos etc.
"Everything is going very well here. We have been busy as usual for this time of the year with lots of eggs being laid and lots of new hatchlings. Our leopard gecko projects are doing great. The first of Godzilla's babies hatched this week, and we have also hatched a couple more Blazing Bell Albinos. Those are two projects that we are especially excited about. And, if all goes well with certain projects we should have a couple new morphs to release later this year (sorry no hints!). :)"

As for there only being 2 bell pattys...

I was talking about the Black Pearl! I think they were the first to be called BP's so it gets confusing when more then one morph is being called a BP! I may be wrong so correct me if I am.

I understand that the Bell Patternless and Bell Blizzards are one of the rarest morphs today but with the way the economy and the price tag that they will supposedly be coming out as, I believe that their will be more out there then people that will want to purchase them. Supply and demand is going to be the downfall for people that are wanting to make the big money off them.

No body in their right mind is going to buy a gecko for several thousand dollars knowing that the price tag will be decrease alot the next year. Most people will wait til it's affordable. You might get people buying them at the high price but its going to be very few. Most people in this hobby arn't rich and can't afford to spend a years savings on one gecko. Not wanting to tromp on your parade but thats just my feelings and I might be wrong about that too.

I do believe that there are alot more out there then people are letting on or otherwise they wouldn't be planning on releasing them later this year. It would only be smart to get as many as you can to sell at once without delaying it so much that others are able to catch up. A breeder with limited numbers isn't going to release them if he/she just has a handfull of them.

I do hope that your hard time and money spent on them is well worth it. :main_thumbsup:

I would have to agree with Max in saying that the most expensive leopard gecko today would be one of the subspecies. Not for sure on which one because I haven't got a great knowledge of them. From what I heard, which I might be wrong once again, they where being sold for 5K over in Europe!
