Hello,

One of my females who was bred recently has this spot on her underside. I think it might be an organ, but i dont see this on any of my other geckos. The gecko is gravid, could this have something to do with it? Ive always seen the small little bluish spot on the underside but not one this big. Any ideas? Ill attach pics, thanks!

I think that's an organ. It would be harder to see on other that may be different morphs or have more fat on them. I don't know what organ it would be, so I can't say if it is due to her being gravid, but I'm gonna bet it's an organ.

Yep, i knew it would be a female by looking at the pic, you should be able to see something blue on the belly of almost every female high( i can not speak for other morphs), but you wont be able to notice it if any males because the male's under side is , I dont kno how to say this thicker, but overal, it is nothing bad, like Scott&Nikki said, its probably just an organ or at least that is what my knowledge tells me.

Hmmm I really don't know I think the smaller spot towards the top is the liver? I've never noticed such a big black area on mine like, what substrate is she kept on?

Looks like she has to poop..lol That is food in the digestive tract, and if you look higher you can see the small bluish dot(pancreas). Totally normal

Yup, check her again after she has a defecation.

I beleive the small blue dot above it is her liver.

I tried using some new bedding for my moist hides, it was a green colored long fiber spagnum moss, and some of my Geckos liked to eat it (I stoped using it once I noticed this). I noticed that they did have that large dark spot on their bellies until they pooped it all out.

What kind of bedding are you using, and have you noticed if she had pooped lately?

I just noticed i put pancreas, I apologize..long day...lol That is the gall bladder. THe liver is not quite that high on the animal. The bluish tint is actually bile being produced/stored for the digestion of food items.
