Why? :main_huh:

it's hard when reading things on the internet, because you can't hear people's tone and see facial expressions.
if you didn't mean to be harsh, then sorry.

Yes, that's true. And it is even more difficult to express myself not being English my first language, sometimes the words don't come out the way I'd like them to. Maybe I didn't chose the best way to make my point.

I don't agree with the term "not a morph". The gecko we're talking about is indeed a morph, namely the 'Wild Type- morph'. Maybe it's not a very special or less extraordinary morph, but a morph nonetheless! But this is just a small technical remark....

Since we can't tell what tone of voice people are using, I will just remind everyone to please choose their words carefully before they hit reply.

For new members or members who are new to Leos, I would encourage them to look through a lot of the threads here. There is so much useful information posted by some of the most knowledgeable breeders and owners in the world.

To GeckoBoy, if you start a thread and ask people for their opinions please do not be so defensive at their responses. All Leopard geckos are a little different, even Normals, so it could be that yours looks different from others you've seen but it is still a Normal. When people here try to give you advise on housing or care topics they are only trying to help. Most pet stores do not specialize in Leopard Geckos and therefore sometimes give misinformation. This forum does specialize in Leopard geckos and our #1 priority is for geckos to give the correct information so everyone's new pets can live long healthy lives.

Go Mel.

That said, I too see normal. As mentioned by others, a Wild-Type morph can vary greatly from 10 million small spots to a few large ones, but basically, it's a yellow background with spots. The gecko you have purchased is a younge gecko, and the morph can be hard to ID until older and the colors hae set in. More than likely that gecko will lose the lavender bands , which will change into spots. All leopard geckos are a morph, even the Wild-Type, normal ones.

Repeating Mel, pet stores don't specialize in husbandry, so their habitats aren't always correct or healthy. The short term habitat at a pet store isn't always the best habitat long term in your home.

Also, quarantining is something you should consider because you don't know if the new gecko has an illness that can be passed to the other gecko.

Over all the posts,

Now I know it is a normal, I didn't have much research on morphs.
