I think you misunderstood my question.

Eclipse x Eclipse = 100% eclipse right?

And from what I've been told, a leo can be eclipse and not show any more black in their eyes than a non-eclipse.

So to re-phrase the question: Why is there a discussion about whether it's an eclipse or not if it came from two morphs that are both homogygous eclipse? Everything they lay should be eclipse, shouldn't it?

Yes, just some Eclipse eyes can be confusing because they are normal eyed. But yes if the parents genetics are correct all of the babies will be Eclipse.

:main_yes:

Dreamsicle, Nova, Mack Raptor and Raptor are the possibilities.

But here, let me throw a bend in the discussion....

perhaps there's a possibility the father is something other than a raptor?

AAARRRRRGHGHH... :)

Could somebody please tell me why we are doubting that this is an eclipse? Is the nose not white enough? WHAT WHAT WHAT?

I'm not doubting it's an eclipse. Personally, when I looked at the hatchling, my first thought was Super Nova or Super Raptor. But for that to be possible, the father would have to be Mack Raptor. And maybe there WAS a possibility that the female was bred before the OP obtained her....i'll let skuttle take it from here... :)

the reason im doubting the hatchling is a "dreamsickle" because when i bought the dreamsickle (mother) i paired it when i got home with the raptor. after two weeks it laid eggs. im thinking maybe when i got the dreamsickle it was mated already. cause the first clutch of eggs hatch was a tremper enigma definetly not eclipse eyed. second clutch was infertile and the third clutch one is infertile and this one hatched. so im thinking maybe the dreamsickle(mother) got mated before i mated it with the raptor to produce a tremper enigma offspring. thats why im asking is it possible to produce none eclipse offspring from raptorX dreamsickle ?

Well, if the raptor did indeed mate, this clutch should be from that pairing. I have mated 2 COMPLETELY different animals to a female and gotten 2 DEFINATE different crosses from it .......

That's pretty interesting to me, and it brought to mind another question:

Do you have any idea just how many clutches can be sired by each different male, or is it random?

And, I would assume that once you get the DEF. different second males first clutch, the other males clutches are over and done with, or can eggs still be laid from the first male after that?

what I did.....

bred a SS MALE to the female and got 2 clutches. after the 2nd clutch was laid put a non mack animal in for 2 clutches and back to the SS male

4 mack babies, 4 non mack babies, mack babies.

To answer your question..... only one male can fertilize an egg :) Nothing scientific about my findings, so your findings could vary. I would not rebreed a female to a different genetic male unless you can be positive of the outcome due to the way the 2 males genetics work.......

DONE, back to the original topic..... nice (sure looks) dreamsickle!!
