I bought a cheap scale from a variety store down the street. It's bang on accurate, as I often weight dimes to make sure.

I got the cheapest food scale from Bed Bath and Beyond. It was like $20, but I got one of those 20% off coupons. I'm assuming it's accurate. I didn't know you can use dimes to check the accuracy.

It does need to weight in grams but anything smaller than that is up to you. I think knowing the tenths of a grams is a bit too much but others may think differently. It surely wouldn't hurt either way.

Have you tried weighing dimes? What is it called on eBay?
I don't remember, but here is what it looks like

because its the size of my cell phone?
yep.
I have a small bowl that has a small base that just barely sits on the scale platform.
you could always put a small board across it to extend the platform too.

I bought a food scale from walmart for about $20.00 (It was a few years ago) and it still works great. Measures grams,oz, and up to 15 lbs. It came with a bowl that sits on the scale which works great for my leos and smaller snakes.
