my female is ready to lay her eggs any day now, and today i found this in the cage. it wasn't in the lay box or in the area they always poop in.

it doesn't look like poop at all, but it doesn't look like an egg either.

does anyone know what this could be?

The pic is a bit blurry, but it is either a regurgitated shed or regurgitated food item(like mealies or crickets) Regurgitation is generally a sign of parasites/a leo eating to much/ or she could be stressed from laying. I wouldnt be alarmed, if this happens again i would definetly take a fecal to the vet. Good luck with the eggs!

in my thoughts
It looks like regurgitated food or even a shed with food. It could be because she either ate too much or because she is getting ready to lay she has no more room for food.
Edit: you beat me to it LOL

Based on color and shape I am going to say it a regurgitated shed... Nothing to worry about at this point... If it happens on a consistant basis, it might be a sign of parasites or other health issues...

i don't know if anyone will read this again, but it think i know the problem.

i bought a 50 box of wax worms on sunday, just for random treats. my boyfriend just told me that without him knowing, his little sister fed the female 9 waxworms and the male 13 at one sitting!

that was on sunday, and i found the vomit today (tuesday). could that be the problem?

AND, will that many waxworms in one sitting harm my geckos??? i'm going the throw the rest away...they're won't be getting any for months, :(

I've never found my geckos to eat more than they can handle. they tend to take 8-9 supers every three days AND up to 12 crickets in between. Guess mine are just fatties.

yeah, mine are pigs too but i was just concerned because they were wax worms and those are really fatty and addicting.
