You can do that with anything that gets hot if you aren't paying attention. Doesn't make them dangerous. I use three on different reptiles and have never had any issues. UTHs, however, I'm somewhat wary of.

I'd suggest you do some hardcore reading on bearded dragon care and actually go to a forum for bearded dragons. Bearded Dragon . org ? Index page
Tosney's Bearded Dragon Care

Thanks man, I really do appreciate it. I will take everything that has been told to me into consideration and go from there :)

Thank you Lindz, I have followed everybodies advice and I have improved his terrarium. There is a description below and here are some pictures!

Right now he is on a non-adhesive Granite substrate with one side (about 5 inches wide and 18 inches long) having crush walnut (desert blend) for a digging material (to keep him happy and prevent anxiety). The heating pad is gone, his water dish is gone (since he doesn't need it of course and i'll just bathe him). And soon, when i can afford it, i'm going to get some more nice furniture, possibly create a second level in his vivarium and maybe a hammock.

No disrespect to others but I totally disagree that beardies do not drink from a bowl. You should provide water and ours have all been known to drink from a bowl. It is true that they do absorb/drink more in the bath every few days. The bath is also more to help their skin and than it is for drinking. I would also highly suggest a climbing structure so he can regulate his heat too. Buy some grapevine and a square of plywood. Cut the grapevine into pieces and make some different level perches for him. Easy to do with some screws and a driver. They need to regulate their temperature and will spend time closer to bulbs and further away as needed. I am glad to see you got rid of the sand for sure. Impaction from sand is more common in smaller beardies but sand in all sizes can really irritate their eyes and cause bad infections. The crushed walnut is the way to go for sure.

Over time, I personally noticed that he did not drink from his water dish. I had spend all day in my room with him there for a number of days, and not once did he drink from his water dish. It always evaporated from the heat. So I'm just going to keep that space open in his vivarium. Like I stated above though, I do plan on making a second level for his tank, and I just bought a "Zoomed Naturalistic Terrarium Light Bar" for inside of his tank for his UVB light so that way the screen won't block any of the vital UVB rays from his Reptisun 10.0 Desert Bulb. I'm going to use suction cups to mount it as well so there is no adhesive being used. So his tank is getting closer and closer to being a work of wonder (for a 40 Gallon tank that is xD) :D
