This total pain in the ass guy who bought some geckos a while back emailed to say that a gecko who was temperature sexed for female is actually a male. It was probably 9g when we sent it and we sold it to him as a temperature sexed female not a visually sexed female. I'm not exactly sure what to tell him.. Would you guys ask him to take a picture showing that it's a male?

This was his email:
"Hi i bought a giant het raptor from you about a month or 2 ago i also purchased two females from you. well one female is turning out to be a male. was she sold to me as temp sexed i can not remember and i can not find the papers with info on them. thanks"

yes first off ask for photos. second, in your terms of service does it say anything about temperature sexed animals and the non guarantee? you may have to end up biting the bullet on this one and offer him a refund or credit for his next purchase or offer him another gecko.
this is one reason i never sold temp sexed animals. i only sold them once i knew the exact sex

Hmm.. I just checked and I still have the clutchmate of that gecko and it's definitely a female. I asked him for a picture, we'll see what happens.

Yeah, ask for a pic and all, but even if it is not a female, you really don't owe him anything if he bought it as temp sexed. I would probably try to do something for him but I dunno, seems like I do things like that and then no one ever does it for me. So fuck him! :)

How big is the gecko now? Maybe it's just going through that bulgy phase when many of them look like they will be male? Tell him to give it some time. Also, who buys a 9 g gecko expecting sex to be guaranteed?!

He sent me a picture and it did look like it could be male (which would be pretty amazing odds) so I went ahead and offered him a partial refund or discount on a similar female. He emailed back and said that he wouldn't expect us to do that since it was sold as temperature sexed. :main_huh:

Sometimes I think people are just trying to make me crazy! :rolleyes3:

Well, at least he sound like he's being reasonable. When you sell an animal 'temp sexed', there is always a possibility it could turn out different.

you offered, he declined. end of discussion. however in your terms page you may want to update it with detailed info on temp sexed animals and add it on the available page too .
something like *temp sexed animals are not guaranteed sex

Glad it all worked out :O I always put a little side note when selling temp sexed Geckos, I put a little * next to the gecko, and down the bottom of the page I say "Temp Sexed Geckos Sex not Guaranteed" or something like that.

I don't think he was trying to start anything though
