There are three strains of albino: Bell, Tremper and Rainwater (also called Las Vegas). They are all seperate morphs so if you breed them together (i.e. Bell X Tremper) you will not get another albino, you will get hets. In this case we're talking about a Patternless Albino, so far there has only been either a Tremper or a Rainwater (Las Vegas) Patternless Albino made so we're discussing based on the appearance of your gecko, which it is. With Trempers like we mentioned before, they have more of a tan colored eye, the RW has yellow eyes and Bells have redish eyes. I'm not sure if this answers your questions, if not, I'm sure someone else will have an answer as well.
it def does help, any information is good information, especially when u dont know much about this topic. Does the red lightning bolts mean anything, does that go into considering what it is? or are you just supposed to look at the back ground color?
alright thanks, sorry if this post turned into a post that already existed...i get carried away trying to learn everything on one thread haha...thx again
Yeah, I see where you're coming from Paul. I figure Rainwater is the most likely answer since they're much more common, plus the eyes look alot like my LVPAs.
I guess you could always prove it out someday? Lol.
i was scanning through all the rainwater eyes, tremper eyes and bell eyes, and taking him out of the cage and looking really close, he def. doesnt have alot of red in them like the bells do, they arnt as dark like the rainwaters, they are really close to the tremper eyes tho, they have a light coffee with cream look with limited red veins. Who knows, ill prolly have to wait till he gets bigger anyways
Well, I just thought of something. Bells have super sensitive eyes whereas Rainwaters do not (Trempers are kind of in the middle). If you hold him under the light does he automatically close his eyes or does it not seem to bother him?
i never thought to even bring that up...i thought it was because he was so little...as soon as i put him under any light that isnt his red heat bulb, he automatically closes both of them, and starts running into stuff
yah when i brought it home, i was inspecting it under the light to make sure there was no flaws or sickness that was visible. Thats when i noticed he never opened his eyes. At first i thought something was wrong with it until i turned the light off and as soon as i did so, bam its eyes opened
Here's a trick that I learned on this site a while back. If you look into it's eyes straight on, nose to nose, a Tremper will have pupils that are really dark red (almost black but not quite) and a RW will have solid black pupils that are completely opaque. You can also try taking an eye pic in lower light so you can catch the pupil dilated more. Just make sure the red-eye reduction flash is turned off.
