Ya, what about crested geckos, sales in the US on them are up big time right now.

Phelsuma klemmeri. When I am old and gray I'll still have some of these:

Of your list leopard geckos. Of all, cresteds and gargoyles. Leaftails and leachies are cool too (both definitely on my to get list).

2 months ago it would have been hands down the leopards but since getting my crestie, I have to say it is a tie. They are both such lovable little creatures.

I agree with Sandy--Leachies! How can anyone not fall head over heels in love, when they hold their first puppy dog dinosaur :) plus, their 'singing' voices are beautiful...Don't get me wrong, I love my leos with all my heart, I keep around 120 of them, but I'd still have to vote leachie.

chahoua would probably be next, because they are sooo personable, they constantly cruise and peruz their cage, jumping and climbing--it's very entertaining! Most of the time they're in the open and clearly visible. They are simply the best 'pet' gecko that I know of...I just wish they were more prolific...

Everyone's definition of "pet" is different, that is great! I am thrilled with the 50+ species I keep, from Phelsuma to Oedura to Leachy to Leos. Many folks turn up their nose when they cannot pick up a gecko. They are eliminating a lot of very cool geckos! I think once they really get into what keeping geckos is all about, observing them and creating a habitat as comfortable as possible for them in our homes, those types of inhibitions just fade away. I could not think of not liking my P. klemmeri or my P.m. grandis because I cannot pick them up, nor my Coleonyx mitratus because they lung at me every time I open their set-up! I respect that they don't adore me or sit complacently as I admire them. I like them for who they are, some of nature's most interesting creatures: GECKOS!!! :main_thumbsup:
