I took this a few minutes ago on my front porch...

What I did was point the thermometer straight up in the sky. Here is the real temp:

Thats still pretty cold...

It is suppose to get 27 here at 5am... It will feel like 18! At the moment it is 35 feels like 27. I think 2001 was the last time Florida got REALLY cold like this.

Jeezums... Thank god I'm on vacation and it's like 82 out at 8 in the morning lol. I will be stopping in Miami though .. it better be warm! Grrrrrrrrrrr.

i dont mind the cold even though i am a born and raised floridian just sucks that now i have hardly any jackets anymore and i work in the early mornings getting in & out of my car so not being prepared sucks. especially when the last few years have been warm winters. also my dogs are spoiled and must be inside all the time otherwise once their butts get cold they act like idiots.

I wasn't complaining. I like the weather lol. Its just pretty incredible when it get bellow 30 for LONG periods of time in Florida. It usually gets bellow 30-40 only a couple times during the winter here. Its been like this for 2 weeks (???). I love it, hope it lasts longer LOL.

See, you northerners are prepared for it to get cold. It is t-shirt weather here most of the time, so most of us don't have clothes for this... Lucky for me, I still have my ski jacket from living in Oregon.

The part I hate the most is when I get to work in the morning and all my metal tools are freezing. I HATE cold hands.

BTW, it only got to 36*F today inside out shop. I was down to just a work shirt by then.

-sigh- See, the only reason us "Northerners" tell you to suck it up when it dips below zero for a day is because we are slightly jealous of the warmer temps. See, we have to have four different wardrobes to live in Canada. Summer (because it gets over 45C/113F here in the summer) and it gets down to -30C+/-20F+ in the winter. -sigh-

Well I was born and raised in the hills of east TN. and moved to Florida so I wouldn't have to deal with cold weather anymore. In the last year or so I have turned into a (butter cup) I suspose because I am freezing here and not enjoying this weather at all. I can't wait till it is back in the 90's again. The reptiles and I at my house has been doing the warm weather dance but I think we are screwing up. If anyone could help we would be very grateful..

I think you guys forget that down here in Fl, not only is it cold but its wet! So, its nothing like your dry cold up north. Its cold and miserable down here because the moisture in the air suuuccckkksss. And yes, those of us who were born and raised in FL (like me) typically dont experience any weather under 70* lol. Im dying down here.

Thats actually a bit of a misconception. Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and several other northern states are far from dry in the winter. Why do you think we get so much snow up here?
