Sorry, I know nothing about turtles and unfortunately this site hasn't gotten much traffic lately. Hopefully you've posted in some exclusively turtle sites as well

Anyone ever seen this before? I've had this RES for 13 years and she has always shed her scutes one at a time until now. It's paper thin and super delicate - would like to find a way to preserve it but not sure what to use.... ideas?

That IS unusual. I would like to preserve it too if it were mine. I'm guessing it's pretty fragile? Maybe you can wait until it dries the spray it with shellack????? Or lightly paint it with Elmer's glue?

Wow that is beautiful! While abnormal I don't think there's anything wrong with that! I've had good luck gluing BONES back together with Elmer's glue. Just can't get it wet again. Very forgiving glue though good for beginners like me
