The time has come that I finally want to address my weight. I would like to lose at least half of me in about a year's time. I have decided to go back to being a vegetarian and have actually bought a stepper to help me get back into working out. Having become really sick this past week where I had no energy at all and became fatigued easily scared me, on top of finding a lump in my neck. I was lucky, everything came back fine with the exception of a high white blood cell count that could be due to an infection. I was bitten by a bug the day before and by my savannah 2 days prior to being ill. I decided that being that tired was just not me and want to have more energy for my daughter as she gets more active and more social. Does anyone have any good vegetarian meals for kids? I have never had to take someone else into consideration with this type of diet and want to make sure I don't miss anything for her well being. My boyfriend will also be going on this diet to see if it will help with his gout flare ups. He has been having way too many lately and we can't seem to figure out why. Wish me luck everyone. Hopefully I can stick through this and get back to where I want to be.
For all those that are wondering why vegetarian, I was much more active than and I truly believe that it helps with mental health along with physical health. I was never sick as a vegetarian and felt great health wise. Thanks

Good luck Jessica!! You're a heck of a lot stronger than I could ever be...I've always thought of being a vegetarian, but then realized it would be impossible with my fiancee around! He's a meat LOVER! :D

Best of luck! I don't have the self-control to be a vegetarian, I just love meat.
Same here :main_yes:

But that's awesome that being a vegetarian makes you feel so much better and I wish you the best of luck in everything - you, your husband, and daughter!

Well so far I've been good about sticking to the vegetarian part. I attempted to use my stepper today for the first time. I couldn't make it past 8 minutes!!! I know I'm going to have to work more and more each day to get to at least 1/2 hour each day. I know I have a long road ahead of me and am right now setting my short term goal for 20 pounds. I ultimately would like to lose 140 pounds and know that setting goals along the way will help me reach my goal. Thanks for all the support and well wishes. I'm enjoying the chance to learn new healthy recipes and to see how well I can stick to my ambitions.

Way to go! Just remember not to worry too much about what the scale says. Muscle weighs 3 times as much as fat so most people put on muscle and lower their body fat percentage without actually losing pounds at some point in their journey. As long as you feel better that's what matters!
