My room has been taken over. I need to build a rack this summer if I want to reclaim this space. It's so sad. I have a bed, a desk, and GECKO SUPPLIES EVERYWHERE! Even my huge room is too small for all this stuff!

That's why we moved to a 2 bedroom apartment. The geckos have their own room now. We ordered the thrid rack, and will get that in about a month. We will be moving all hatchlings to that rack once it is here. Even that room is starting to get full.

Don't even get me started! haha I have five 20 gal tanks for geckos and snakes, four 10 gal tanks for single geckos and my baby cresties, a 30 gal mesh cage for my crestie, a 55 gal tank for my roommate's beardies, a 30 gal for a snake, and four large drawers for single geckos - and ALL of that in our small livingroom!

Not all of them are ours, we're babysitting 5 of them for a friend, so that's 3 tanks we won't have in a month. But still, we're trying to space them out throughout the 2 bedroom apartment so people don't think we're crazy when they walk in. And not to mention that so our landladies don't see how many we have, since we're not supposed to have more than our dog!

Right now my 25gal, 20, and 15 are not taking much space now but im moving to university in the fall and am not looking forward to trying to cram them in my room along with the food containers, 2 20liter containers as well as mealworm colonies... They permit one 20gal aquarium for fish and that is it... gonna be real rough keepin it all on the down low. There were problems with people having pets last year down there...

We were allowed one 10gallon tank and we were allowed to have anything in it "as long as it spends 90% of its life in water." I was only brave enough to bring one gecko to school

Be very careful with that, because most only allow fish and they'll get very testy with anything else. Don't risk getting in serious trouble if you can help it. The best place to keep them in in your closet, if your dorm room has closets, because the RA's usually aren't allowed to look in there, but they can look under your bed.

Idk how your uni works, but if we were found to have anything other than fish we had a $30 DAILY fee until we got them out of there

I know that at my uni it's not a huge deal, but they do give you something like a week to get rid of it. I don't know what happens if you don't, but I can imagine you start getting into bigger trouble. I did have a friend at another college that had several rats in a cage hidden in her closet, and since people can't search your closets she got away with it. But yea, if you can find somewhere else to keep them it's better.

Now I live off campus in an apartment so I have no issues with room checks, but my lease says we can't have anything except the dog we already have registered, so we are careful to make sure no one sees them all except friends.

OMG what in the world does a 180 gal tank took like?!? Haha I can't even imagine that. That's riddiculous
I'm googleing it and it still looks so small compared to the gallons it holds. I have a 55 and it's HUGE

I'm totally with you guys. My boyfriend finally let me take over the guest room a couple weeks ago, and I thought I had things pretty well organized until I picked up three more rescue snakes and their 20Ls on Friday. My oldest ball python needs a tank upgrade, because his old owner gave him to me in a 20L as well, but once I get it, I'm not sure where the heck it'll fit. I think I'm gonna go out today and get some sort of shelf so the tanks aren't sitting on the floor anymore at least. I think I'm going to have to invest in a snake rack pretty soon so they can be all tidy and save space like the geckos.

It shoulnt be to much trouble unless someone rats me out to the school, my room is behind the school in a 4 bedroom apartment building owned by the school. Nobody ever checks on it from the school unless something is broken or scheduled maintenance checks. I plan to put my feeders in the closet away from my roommates. Other then that, keep the door and window blinds closed and i should be ok... i hope. Kind of stressing about who the other 3 guys are gonna be... As for punishment... haven't heard of any one ever really getting in trouble. Anyone found out has just listened to the housing staff and was ok as far as i no of. People always have small pets down there anyway like hamsters and Rats. Just wish me luck with three decent size tanks.
