When my mother and I saw this we immediately thought impaction because these are all the mealworms we gave one of my leopards last night. Hopefully someone here can help?

Looks like a regurgitation. How big is the leo in question? I have seen this happen a few times to hatchlings and juvies because they will overeat.

It's just regurgitated food. It doesn't necessarily mean it's impacted. It may have just eaten too much and couldn't hold it down. Cut down just a bit on the amount of food and if it keeps happening consult a Vet and have some tests done.

Is this one of the sick ones from those bad, bad people?

If it is, it could be something a little more serious than overeating. Try feeding about half that amount next time you feed and see what happens. If it still can't keep food down, that might warrant a phone call to a good vet.

Ok thanks everyone and yes it is one of the babies from you know whom and I will cut down on the feeding. Would it be ok if I just feed him some slurry, and not try the worms for a while?

I think that should be fine. You can ween him back on the worms when he's ready. I'd also give him a good soak every now and then, just in case it IS an impaction issue.

Jazmin , I just found this thread. I have been one of your supporters against those you know who.!

I don't post much here , thought I would take this chance to say :main_thumbsup: Those little Leos were lucky to find you. :)

It seems counterintuitive, but you may want to limit feeding for a while if they truly have been starved, as you run the risk of refeeding syndrome if a starved animal is allowed to gorge itself. Refeeding syndrome is a series of imbalances in electrolytes and insulin caused by the sudden switch from fat metabolism during the starvation period to carbohydrate metabolism when fed again, and can be fatal.

Jazmine make sure you you have them quarantined away from your other geckos. you wouldn't want these babys making your other geckos sick

Make sure the temps at up too. Should help them digest the worms better (yeah, you probably already know, but sometimes people forget, including me, heh)

Thanks Jeanene for that article. Yes Robin they are in their own tank and the MBD ones of course are in their own personal tanks. Thank you Tony for that helpful info about refeeding syndrome and I will be feeding them the Slurry that way they get the vital nutrients in which they need and also so they dont over eat =). Also the temp of the babies is staying steady around 85 :)

Thanks everyone and yes I am glad they found me although it is hard to see the MBD leos in their state of pain =/ However, I am pleased to say that the White MBD leo is improving a lot he is moving around a lot more and one of the other ones (the tangerine looking one) is putting on tail fat! I was so happy to see him putting on tail fat it just makes me cry with joy as I see him walking better, of course he will probably have some leg problems but atleast he is putting on tail fat this I am so very happy about! :D

I will be keeping everyone updated on their progress and if you want anymore information feel free to PM me :)

You should be very proud of yourself. You have taken a terrible situation and turned it around to be a much better one. Good for you! This hobby needs more people like you. :)

O agree, bump up the temps on the warm side. Also, personally if the geckos want mealworms I would feed them mealworms, not slurry. Just start them off a little slower on the amounts.
