Okay so I know this wouldn't mean much to some people.. but we just got full cable tv today!! WOOT WOOT! We weren't paying for any because the last time we set up a plan with the local cable tv company, our bill ended up being something like $140 every month, and we just can't afford that. So anyway, ever since we moved to this apartment complex, we've had free basic cable, which means we got the first 20 channels free.

But then just today, we got a new apartment manager, and she's giving the complex the first 99 channels free!! It's awesome, we finally have Spike tv, the Discovery Channel, etc.. we haven't had those channels in over three years, so we're pretty stoked!

The simplest things can make your day :)

That's great! We just got cable for the first time two years ago. I don't know how we managed without it!

Gosh I wish we had a PVR (what we call it in Canada). My life would be SO much easier with one, lol. But they are just way to expensive to rent/buy.

WHOO HOO On the cable!! :D I know I'd die without just the basic's since my shows are on those channels. But having the extras like Discovery, HGTV and all that is such a great bonus to have :)

Nice! You're lucky to get Discovery, they took it off of the basic cable channels here and added to the digital plus channels so now we have 4 Discovery channels in the 300 numbers. We can't watch it in rooms that don't have a cable box now. :(

Ryan, I totally know what you mean! We have 2 DVRs. LOL

I honestly don't care about tv. It never interests me. Now, the internet, is a whole different subject ;)

Congrats on having full cable!

I'm with ihazabp though. My boyfriend and I hardly watched tv, so when push came to shove and we had to cut some expenses, we got rid of our tv service. (We had satellite since we live too far out of city limits for cable.) The internet on the other hand... that's a MUST HAVE. We'd both go crazy without it, lol.

It's definitely been nice to be able to watch something other than court tv during the day!! I work from home, and so having more options of things to watch (or have on as background noise in the very least) is very nice. But I agree Janna, I would totally die without the internet, our cable tv was the first thing to go when we had to cut expenses. I used to hate tv and never watch it, but now I have a lot of shows that I couldn't live without :)

I take it for granted, but I don't know if we'll be able to afford it when we move out of my in-laws basement. Cable is expensive, especially when most of the shows you like are on a higher tier than the regular, more affordable one.

When I lived in Virginia, I was as happy as a clam when they finally added Cartoon Network to the cable roster. I was crushed when I moved to Canada and realized that they didn't have Cartoon Network. I got a taste of it when I visited my folks and discovered that they had new and awesome cartoons on like Flapjack and Chowder. Ugh. Teletoon shows CN cartoons but only at ungodly hours so that the American shows won't hog the ratings.

I also miss Animal Planet and National Geographic. :< Atleast we have Discovery and Space.
