Great little healthy hatchlings displayed with good photography.:main_thumbsup:

Side note:
Why does it seem like you are avoiding this simple question?
I will ask clearly.
Brittney who did the parents of your afghans come from?

True you don't have to answer but to pretend like the question has not been asked several times is silly.

I am just saying it like i see it. hope no offense was taken Brittney.

Credit has been given in the past where credit is due. I'm not trying to avoid anything.

The darkling's mother was a gift from Marcia Mcguiness originally from Alberto of A&M. And father was from Eric by way of wherever he got his from originally. Every gecko comes from somewhere and someone! ;)

exactly, thats why full credit should be given and if people ask you to disclose info about the background there should be no running around the issue just to say they are your line or you have a special dark one. oh let's call this subspecies "morph" a "darkling", specially when dealing with pure subspecies.

even after i produce babies (even several generations or for several seasons) i inform the buyer the background of the particular gecko. who i got it from, what the parents were and any other important info

its ridiculous that some people have to have the "mine mine mine" syndrome

The only people that deserve info on the background of an animal are the people that are purchasing from you. If someone wants to attempt to discredit someone about their genetics then that shouldn't brought up on a public forum.

So i'm happy you do what you do Robin, but i hold my customers higher then i do random people that inquire about my animals.

a potential buyer may get info on any breeder or line, just from a forum thread. that is what may lead them to buy from a particular breeder.

also just because someone does or doesn't purchase a gecko does not mean they should be any less informed on the background and genetics of a gecko. all inquires should be viewed as potential customers therefore be given the same info as anyone else.

Awwwww, come on people! I have had LOTS of people post photos of the offspring they produced from geckos that were obtained from me, and although credit would be nice it isn't anything mandatory.

I can understand people being curious about the origin of a really cool hatchling, but I see no point in harassing anyone simply because they posted a photo of a pretty little gecko! The community does not need to know who gets what geckos from who, and some people are very closed-mouthed about whom they do business with. That's their choice. I agree that if I was considering purchasing a gecko, I would want to know where it's parents came from, but I certainly don't expect every single person here on this forum who's bought geckos from me should post about it.

This thread is turning into a Faunasque wolf-pack mentality thread. Most of us no longer post over there because of crap like this. So, go back there if you want to carry on, and let the rest of the members here of GeckoForums.net just enjoy looking at a very cool little darkling gecko baby.

Can't we just play nice and keep our sunscreen and shades on? :main_cool3:

Diversity. Beauty. Purity.

A few more photos of the amazing variety that 'pure' afghans are able to produce! I'm in love with working with this amazing sub species! All of these animals are '09 offspring in various stages of development.

This is the other darkling afghan that hatched earlier this year that I mentioned earlier in the thread... just for comparison. I think he is about 3 weeks old here?

He turned out nice and bold as a sub-adult.

a few other afghans from this year...

i agree to some point marcia but when dealing with the pure subspecies i think it is imperative to know the background of the animal. first to make sure it isnt a cross and second to see if they are related or not. in the limited amount of subspecies geckos don't you want them to as unrelated as possible to ensure a strong line?

also this isnt anything like fauna LOL

Folks, I am not taking sides. The only side I'm on is the GeckoForums.net community. Not everyone likes every one, but I don't want this forum to be a dumping ground for people's personal feelings. Let's just stick to the topic. Period.

Britt your DARKLINGS are quite wonderful. They are even better in person. Tiny as all get out though. I was quite surprised even though you told me how small they were for months. LOL
