Evidently my comments were taken as harsh! Afghans fade, fact. I personally haven't seen white that far down the back. Which to me is very interesting. Simply put, I was just curious where the parents came from, that's it! Certain people need to quit reading into things, in noway was I trying to ruin this thread. Past or no past, Brittney, beautiful Afghan.

Thank you to those that posted positive comments, I really appreciate it! :) My afghan group has really thrown some exciting stuff from the variety of bloodlines I've used -- diversity is key.

I'll post a few updates of this little one as it grows up. I did have another 'darkling' hatch out earlier this year that wasn't near as dark as this one... he ended up being really nice and bold when he hit about the 12 gram mark... so heres to hoping this little one will be nice and bold, too! :)

thanks again, everyone!

It's always cool to see the diversity of hatchling that come from pure afghans.

right on, Paul... same goes for the fascios too! Don't you have some pure montanus babies? ;) maybe you'd like to share some of your diversity with the sub-species, I'd like that!

Brittney. I own .3 fasc and .2 montanus. I am working on the males. I only bred a 1.1 of pure afghans and the rest were outcrossed. I know far to many people doing pure afghans and didn't want to do a 2.16 myself and take away from the rarity aspect.

understood. I like the idea of having many different people working with the sub-species... same as with any other morph... seeing the different directions different people take their projects is exciting to me. Good luck with your groups, Paul! :)

Sweet little gecko, Britt! I love it's cool pattern, and will look forward to seeing how it develops.

I also think diversifying leopard gecko sub-species is as important as any other bloodlines. We have a VERY shallow gene-pool, especially with the E. afghanicus and the E. fasciolatus since most of them came from the same source. Pure sub-species are getting rarer because of all the outcrossing that's being done, and I think it would be good to know where the parents come from.
