CLOSE CALL FOR LITTLE JABBA 2...
Little Jabba is not doing so well. It has lost some weight, and is not as active as it has been. I slurry fed Jabba this morning with a very small glass dropper, and it was lapping the slurry when a huge, thick blob of slurry came shooting out right into Jabba's mouth. It immediately aspirated on it, and started going into seizures and pooped in my hand. The little one could not breathe, and it's lungs were collapsed!
I was frantic, and didn't know what to do with something so tiny. I took a Q-Tip, forced it's mouth open, and swabbed out all the slurry. Jabba's lungs were collapsed in, and it was opening it's mouth to try and breathe. So I started blowing air into it's mouth, and stroked it's back with my pinky finger to try and get what air was left in the lungs to express in hope of clearing the glottis and airway. I finally heard a small 'click', and swabbed out Jabba's mouth again. The poor little thing was seized up with it's mouth gaping, and unresponsive.
I was hysterical. I kept using my finger to gently simulate CPR, this time on Jabba's chest, but it was no use. So I put Jabba back in it's tub, and went outside to cry and pray to the Lord for the life of this little tiny creature.
I just went back to see Jabba... and it is breathing on it's own now. Thank you, Lord.
