Do you think it would work? Turning down the air so it's a little cold and then leave a hide out with worms under a nice red bulb heat lamp?
Honestly, I have no idea! ;) It could, if she's not trapped anywhere. Don't know how good they are at heat-seeking, though - whether they'll travel a ways for it or just sit in a lump until it's warm out again. :tongue3:

Thanks everyone.

I'm just gonna say that this is freaky. I've never had an animal disapear like this, ever. They usually leave some trace - a poop or make stratchly noises - anything! But I swear all of us think that it is just freaky the way this one has just disapeared of the face of the planet. We have looked EVERYWHERE several times, we have turned over furniture, we have even cut into the underside of couches to see if she got into the holes in the couch. And we just can't find any trace of her, it is honestly so frustrating. All we can do now I think it just wait to see if she wanders out of where she's hiding on her own. We've left a dozen little plates with mealworms/water on them so she shouldn't starve/dehydrate.

I wish you lots and lots of luck finding her.
I know you must feel terrible, my leopard gecko disappeared for 7 hours and I was absolutely distraught so I really do feel for you.
I think she will pop out when you least expect it, you will just see her sat on the floor looking lost.
GOOD LUCK XXXX

Best of luck in the hunt... i have an idea of how u must feel, i was watering the plants outside tonight and my gf came out and asked how to catch a snake because she let mine out by accident, seemed belivealbe because he is a very quick little bugger... my stomach sank in fear and she told me she was only jokeing. And yesterday while i had my Tokay out she decided to go hand glideing and Leaped off my arm about 4-5 feet onto an old cricket bin... luckinly i grabbed her before where she could figure out where to go next....
once again, Best of Luck, Fingers and Toes are crossed for ya.

I had someone watch my house for three days, while I went to see the inlaws over christmas. When I got home my boy was gone and no where to be found.. For weeks I searched everywhere for him and nothing... (It was December when he disappeared) Sometime in Feb, two months after his disappearance our basement started to flood and my bf went down there to fix it!! To our surprise there was a, what we tho ught a dead, very skinny, very cold lizard. When Mark went to move it the lizard jumped off the cement block and into the water, Mark quickly grabbed him and brought him upstairs. Ic ouldn't believe he was alive, he was soo thin and still had pieces of his dirty almost rotten shed .. BUUT... Good news is he is doing GREAT! He did a complete turn around with in a month :) so good luck hope you find the lil guy!

I lost my little male Monty yesterday. Every day I go to my male's cage and let him out to play. Well when I went to play with him yesterday I couldnt find him at all. I was freaking out. I checked his cage over and over hoping I wasnt seeing right. My mom and I started to search the house up and down but found no trace of my little guy. And just let you no my house is so small so things are cluttered which makes looking for a gecko so much harder. My dad came home helping us look for my gecko. My dad found him behind the gun case which is like a foot or 2 from his cage. Funny story my mom told me today my gecko lets his self out of his cage. He has one of those vision stackable cages and since it opens from the side he pushes the door open letting himself out. Now does anyone no where u can buy locks for these cages or a way I can lock it so my little guy dont get out.

Once I lost a sub adult gecko and what I did was put a bowl of waxworms in every corner of the room and in the center... In the center bowl it was on a little slip of plastic with a hide in it.... I turned off all the lights and left it alone for a few hours and at night she came out and all the worms were gone :main_yes:

Another time I put one of my geckos in as close of a scenario that I thought the other one escaped and let her crawl around freely with my supervision and she led me right to the other one... Sounds Crazy, but I'm glad I tried the crazy :D

Dani, is your escape artist named Hercules? That is one strong gecko to be able to open the sliding door. I'm impressed.

release some crix, in case it is around. check up under the fridge, sinks, washer dryer, tub. i use my herding/hunting dog with something of whatever's scent, and familairize her with a name for them if i want her to sniff em out specifically, and she always finds em, so you could ask if anyone has a decent tracking dog. also make sure to check clothes real well. they love em especially on the floor. i also put out algea or crix drink in a bowl or container as it seems to attract them by smell. good luck

~This so totally works I used it today! One of my girls escaped her holding box while I was cleaning her tank...I put my boy gecko out where the rack meets the wall and he crawled right over to *under* the bookshelf I had been tearing up...there she was, safe and sound!

dont worry i have one loose too in our room well its possible it could have got out into the rest of the house. i have looked under everything and behind everything and no signs. I have dogs so i am worried they ate her but i kinda doubt it i think i would have seen some remains left. I can't put out worms or anything because the dogs will eat them. i hope she will casually just walk out one day, quite a few crickets have escaped while feeding so if shes still alive then shes eating. lol.

Danielle

i wish you luck in finding her i know its really upsetting mine has been gone for about 2 weeks now
