The reason why they got caught is because the coach of the Jets used to be an assistant coach for the Pat's. He knew what and how the Pat's did it. So he probably tipped off officials. Cheating happens in every sport. I don't condone it. I believe it will taint their record. However, with or without cheating I still feel that the Patriots are the best team this season. I'm a GB fan need I mind you guys.

Exactly so. Eric Mangini, the head coach of the Jets had worked for Bill Belichick since Belichick was the head coach of the Browns in the early 1990's. He was with Belichick with the Jets and also with the Patriots (as defensive coordinator after Romeo Crennel left to be head coach of the Browns). Mangini didn't mind benefiting from what all teams did at the time. But bad blood developed when Mangini took the Jets job. He (Mangini), while still on the team plane, tried recruiting players and staff (coaches) to go to the Jets with him. That's why it all happened.

Does anyone really believe that taping the New York Jets during week one of the season affected the rest of the year? Please get a grip if you do. :main_rolleyes: No one has gone 16-0 in the regular season, and no one has gone 18-0. Like it or not, this is one incredible team that has had one incredible year. Oh, and Brady? Look at his passer rating and then comment on his being a pretty boy. You take hits from Jason Taylor twice a year, every year, and see if you can still walk, much less stand up.

i love that our government is now taking an active role in investigating the "spygate" and the commissioners handling of it. Seriously! I can understand the steroids thing in baseball somewhat but this is stupid. Fix the war, our economy and the rest of the shit thats wrong with our country, dont waste time on a damn game! glad our tax dollars are going to such a great cause.

brady gets hit? i would guess that he took the least sacks, hurries and knockdowns of any starting qb in the league this year and if, god forbid, someone did make contact with the league's goldenboy you can expect to see a flag flying and 15 yards marched off. besides, how can you argue that a guy that models for magazine ads and cologne commercials isn't a prettyboy? plus he carries a purse.

by the way guys, don't forget to double check your patriots jerseys to make sure you took the tags off... wouldn't want to get embarrassed in front of the other bandwagon fans at your superbowl bashes this weekend. i would wager that at least 75% of current pats "fans" probably didn't even follow the team until 2002 or later.

I'm torn, I really don't care who wins because I hate each team in it with a passion. I guess the commercials will make up for it ;).

lol no jersey here i stopped buying and wearing sports apparel in my early teens. you are probably correct in your assumption with the bandwagon fans but that really doesnt have much to do with the pats. If another team had the same success there would be the same thing going on with that team and everybody would be throwin a fit about them too. Thats just the world we live in!

LOL How is it a knock on Brady that he has a great O-line? You guys are just looking for things. I don't understand it.

boy that belicheat is a classy guy... going to the locker room with time left on the clock, what a sore loser.

it's not a knock on brady that he has a line that magically keeps him upright, but to claim that he takes hits all the time, negating the "pretty boy" argument is silly. he sure looked like a good role model for kids tonight as he was screaming obscenities at his teammates every time he screwed up or got sacked. almost as good of a role model as belicheat.

Awesome 4th quarter! I'm not a Giants fan, but I was very happy when they got that touchdown... I thought it was over prior to that...

uh last time i checked peyton manning does the same thing to his teammates whether he screws up or they screw up. all qb's are pretty boys that dont want to get hit i mean if they're getting hit they wont be doing what they're doing very long. honestly who is a good role model these days? big ben riding around on his motorcycle with no helmet on? quit knocking on brady for ridiculous reasons just because u dont like him.

the game was good and tyree deserves a big bonus for saving their ass.

The fourth quarter was obviously the best! It was a boring game for me up until that point. I couldn't believe Burress was that wide open! I'm just glad it's over. MLB time!

Wow, that was unexpected. Cheers to the Giants...

But man am I glad I can finally rub some smack back at one very particular very obnoxious douchebag at school (a pats fan) finally. I can understand being on a high horse when a team does so well, but this guy is a jerk regardless of the situation... Heeheehee!

remember kids, if you can't win and can't cheat just leave the game early and pout in the locker room.

I think you should practice what you preach. The Patriots lost, and the ONLY thing ANYONE will remember is how the Giants beat the "supposed" best NFL team ever.

This has to be the BEST superbowl game in YEARS! CONGRATS GIANTS!!!!!

The worst part of this is needing to listen to the '72 Giants talk like they could still beat the entire world. Congrats to the Giants though. Deffinately not expected on my part, but I give them a lot of credit. On the other hand...everyone gave me s*** in October when I said the Giants would be in the Superbowl :main_laugh:

I don't care how much you hate the Pats..you cannot deny what they did this year. What surprised me the most about this game was, the Giants actually won. It's not that the Patriots lost...they were outplayed. This Patriots team won the first 18 games of the season and were the first team ever to that. The only game they lost, they didnt even play poorly. They were just played that well. I think it's only fair to still include the Patriots in a discussion as one of the best single season teams ever. You can't even say they "choked", they just got beat for once in 19 games. If I remember correctly...the last team to do that was my '85 Bears.
