Hey

Sorry, I know this belongs in the "show off my leo" area but it would not let me manage pics there for some reason anyway my girl made it from Craig and she is better than I even imagined. Before I settled her in I took a couple of pics. One is with no flash in our bright Florida sun the other is flash inside. Wish another leo had been in there for color comparison but I didn't want to stress her out more than what I got but will get eye/head pics later when she starts eating and I can manipulate her a bit more. She is still very dark for her size (26 grams), not sure when she will start dramatically going through her color phases. Will definately post more natural light pics once she hits maturity as well so everyone knows what that looks like. Though the way their darkness is the inside with a flash seems to be more true to her coloring as what she actually looks like. Probably why LA and Criag haven't shown any natural light pics.:main_yes:

Also while Criag was shipping I picked up these two gorgeous Tang Tornado's. Very pleased with them as well. Enjoy.

Kendra,
She is very nice... I really hope she stays that dark... Not really black but it is absolutely NOT the "turd" I thought it to be... LOL

Good luck with her and keep the updates regular...

Those TTs are AWESOME!!! I want babies!!!

Very nice, but it looks that people who said they are more Brown Pearls than Black Pearls were right :(

They are hatched pure black but yes as they age their under pattern begins to peek through making the browner coloration where their original colors use to be. They are NOT a pure black leopard gecko, they are hyper melanistic. Hopefully (fingers crossed) with some selective breeding and many generations like our hypos we may be able to reduce to completely get rid of the under pattern and make something even darker or possibly black in the future with them. From what I have learned about leopard geckos is that I never say never because I always get proved wrong.:main_laugh:
